The Disappearing Boy Posted December 25, 2009 Posted December 25, 2009 probably my favorite off the album atm. loved it ever since i first heard it.
The Disappearing Boy Posted December 31, 2009 Posted December 31, 2009 ....althought the outro kinda annoys me a bit. all those chorus repeats.
Mrs. Nobody Posted December 31, 2009 Posted December 31, 2009 Didn't like this song till i heard it live tbh. Love it now (:
biwic Posted January 2, 2010 Posted January 2, 2010 Didn't like this song till i heard it live tbh. Love it now (:I didn't care for it much for a month or two, and then as i listened to the album nonstop for the next month i liked it. The intro to it sounds a lot like Born to run by bruce springsteen.
Sanity Loan Posted January 7, 2010 Posted January 7, 2010 I hope this is the next single! In the even that it is, here is my version of the single's artwork (without the watermark obviously)
kerplunk!samantha Posted January 9, 2010 Posted January 9, 2010 awww man i get tears listening to this song! As soon as it start Billie just sounds so amazing
Tre_Gina Posted January 13, 2010 Posted January 13, 2010 as a drummer I love this song but can't find a drum tab for it :-(I love this song a lot more after seeing them do it live. it has a great tempo.x
AnaArmstrong Posted January 20, 2010 Posted January 20, 2010 as a drummer I love this song but can't find a drum tab for it :-(I love this song a lot more after seeing them do it live. it has a great tempo.xhave you already tried to search on ultimate guitar? Sometimes they have good drum tabs! And also for guitar this song is so amazing to play! I really like this song and quite reminds me the tempo of Letterbomb (which is one of my fav songs, mm like every Green Day songs ahahah)
VirginiaMisery Posted February 9, 2010 Posted February 9, 2010 I love this song. I like the bridge or whatever that is when he sings "hey hey its the static age".I know i love that part!"Hey Hey it's the static age, well this is how the west was won. Hey Hey it's the static age millenium"thats my favorite!
Hermione Posted February 9, 2010 Posted February 9, 2010 I know i love that part!"Hey Hey it's the static age, well this is how the west was won. Hey Hey it's the static age millenium"thats my favorite! That's my favourite too! I love how it changes up a key there. I always used to wish Church On Sunday would go up a key at the end, because it would be so cool . And then The Static Age, a song that reminds me of Church On Sunday, came along and did it! Excellent.I might have said so before but this song is just the BEST song to sing along to in the entire world.
P3AC3MAK3R Posted February 18, 2010 Posted February 18, 2010 i love everything about this song ^ ^ thats my fav bit aswell ^ ^ I love bj's voice in this ♥ its soo amazing !!
leacalifornia Posted February 26, 2010 Posted February 26, 2010 definately a song that grew on me... the more I listened to it the more I loved it...
Just Kate Posted February 26, 2010 Posted February 26, 2010 sweet Static Age. it's really good and it's great intro to 21 Guns
Burge Posted March 4, 2010 Posted March 4, 2010 as a drummer I love this song but can't find a drum tab for it :-( I love this song a lot more after seeing them do it live. it has a great tempo. x How long have you been playing drums? Coz its probably one of the simpler Green Day songs on drums, if you have 2+ years experience you should be able to work it out for yourself. Good song, if it a little repitive but oh so catchy that it gets away with it.
petros Posted March 22, 2010 Posted March 22, 2010 Don't know why I can't really hear this song...The most times I try to hear it I simply get bored.. Although I love this part:"All I want to know Is a God-damned thing Not what's in the medicine All I want to do is I want to breathe Batteries are not included What's the latest way that a man can die Screaming hallelujah!"
Comedy & Tragedy Posted April 7, 2010 Posted April 7, 2010 If this song doesn't get made into a single, I swear, puppies will start falling from the sky or something
rekk38 Posted April 9, 2010 Posted April 9, 2010 If this song doesn't get made into a single, I swear, puppies will start falling from the sky or something i hope this will never happen! i love The Static Age too much. the only bad thing about the song is the fact that jason's saxophone solo is not a part of it, only in concerts.
Micky Posted May 1, 2010 Posted May 1, 2010 ^ speaking of drums ... am I the only one that thinks about "Tarzan" with those drums at the beginning?
Banan Posted May 26, 2010 Posted May 26, 2010 hahha i love static age (: no matter how awful i'm feeling, it always makes me smile!
Steven Samuels Posted May 26, 2010 Posted May 26, 2010 All I want to know Is a God-damned thing Not what's in the medicine All I want to do is I want to breathe Batteries are not included What's the latest way that a man can die Screaming hallelujah? Singing out "The dawn's early light" The silence of the rotten, forgotten Screaming at you. Those lines give me the chills every time I hear it. "Holly fuckin' lujah!" I don't know why you guys are dissing the jazz sax, for me it's awesome to hear. Really gets the blood pumping.
justcause Posted May 27, 2010 Posted May 27, 2010 I feel like this song both mirrors and comments on Springsteen's 'Born to Run', musically and lyrically - onstage, Billie Joe and Jason = Bruce and Clarence. There's similarity and contrast in the lyrical sense of the songs - Springsteen's is all romance, lovers fleeing to 'that place where we really want to go, and we'll walk in the sun', Static Age is 'all I want to know is a goddamn thing.... all I want to do is I want to breathe'. The contrast is not only in the title 'Run' versus 'Static', but also in what you can feel in the music - 'Born to Run' is engines-roaring, let's get the fuck out of this place before it takes us - Static Age is contained, wheels spinning, gridlocked. Born to Run is in love with a world of heroes trying to find their place - the delirious swoon of 'beyond the palace, hemi-powered drones scream down the boulevard/ girls comb their hair in the rearview mirror and the boys try to look so hard', Springsteen's beautiful, pulp-fiction language. Static Age is a claustrophobic, nightmare mindfuck, no romance, no way out, nowhere to run. Born to Run has the core of you and me against the world, and we're gonna make it - Static Age is a drowning soul, alone, beleaguered, nothing resonating, nothing beckoning on the horizon.
Devil Jimmy Posted June 20, 2010 Posted June 20, 2010 one of my fav in the album its a really good song
