Emmalee Posted December 27, 2009 Posted December 27, 2009 haha, i guess not!! I'm sure they considered it though I'm slightly amused by this now, singing it to myself......probably a sign that I should go to bed and get some sleep but whateverThis song has been slowly growing on me recently. Was never too fond of it at first, but as I listen to it more frequently and more thoroughly, I like it more*plays song*

It was weird for me, i kind of knew i would get into it and listen to it later on. Static Age was the first song that really hit me, so i played the shit out of it. I still love it, but Horshoes anf Handgrenades is creeping up on my 'go to' songs.

I think I just haven't ever taken the time to listen to it properly. Bad, I know but what the hey. It just hides away in between two of my absolute favourite songs lol. I do quite like the guitar in this one though I've just played it through about 4 times in a row!
Mrs. Nobody Posted December 27, 2009 Posted December 27, 2009 This is definitely the first song I got hooked. 21CB as an album took a while to grow on me, whereas H&H just stuck immediately.Love it

Apparently they originally wrote it in the nimrod era, and they weren't that keen on putting it on this album, but Butch Vig insisted on it! That's what i read anyway. It is a great song to let out a bit of aggression, i find.

And for me it's often the songs that aren't immediate highlights on an album that ultimately end up being favourites, hehe. Strange but true. And wow, I never knew that! It seems to fit into 21CB well enough. I can't imagine it coming out with Nimrod, although maybe that's just because I'm so used to it being on this album haha. You're right, it is a good aggressive song Though if I'm in that kind of mood I'll tend to listen to something more like Insomniac, or a different band hehe

Yeah Insomniac is also very good for aggression. And Rancid, for me I think H&H might've sounded a bit different if it came out on Nimrod. I'm sure there will have been a certain amount of evolution with the song in the 10 years, if that is indeed true.

Hypothetical situation, but it would be interesting to hear a demo of that. Actually just looking at the lyrics now and when I compare them to the rest of the album, I could quite happily believe it was originally a Nimrod-era song.
Tashidge Posted January 9, 2010 Posted January 9, 2010 Is it odd that this song calms me down when I'm angry?
E!!i Posted January 9, 2010 Posted January 9, 2010 Why did they have to swear? It should've been "i'm not flipping around!" they're bad boys
minorty13 Posted January 10, 2010 Posted January 10, 2010 My mom absolutely HATES this song. It accidently played once in the car and now she knows to skip Track 14 haha
Mar Posted January 12, 2010 Posted January 12, 2010 My mom absolutely HATES this song. It accidently played once in the car and now she knows to skip Track 14 haha This is my mom's "I'm stuck in traffic and I'm angry at the other drivers" song...she usually screams along with the "I'm not fucking around" parts! "Christian's Inferno" is our song to skip.
