I think that this has got to be one of my many favorites on this new album. The lyrics are just....beyond amazing and the beginning is so beautiful.

The lyrics really do tell a story, and that is something that I love about Billie's writing. He knows how to tell a story lyrically. I think he'd make an amazing author. He's just an amazing writer overall. There's just so much talent in his lyrics. Just...the way that he words everything, the songs just read like poetry on this album. Every song on this album is just so unique in its own way.

Some of my favorite lines from this song are:

"She smashed her knuckles into winter, As autumns wind fades into black"

"Gloria, where are you Gloria, Don't lose your faith to your lost naivete"

And then of course, the whole beginning is just amazing lyrically. There's just nothing to hate about this song, or any song on this new album, really.

This is one of my favorite songs on the album. The piano is beautiful and so is his voice. I also love how the tempo gets faster.

Sounds a lot like Letterbomb, the piano intro totally fools you though.

'Cos it's almost the same chord progression :) Well spotted.

I ADORE playing this on guitar. Classic Green Day; dynamic, interesting, but down-to-earth and with a great sense of humour at the same time.

awesome, i think the best song in the album.

it's my fav without a doubt. I fucking love it!!

I agree...the intro gives me chills to. I love how it bursts into the fast bit unexpectedly! I love the lyrics to...they're just so descriptive. The only question I have...what's with all the autumn/winter references?

To me I sort of thought of it how that's when it starts to get cold, and Gloria has become bitter and cold about her outlook on life. She's a revolutionist who has given up on change but still believes that the world is divided between good and evil. The song is saying that there can even be a little naivety in a cold hard revolutionist.

i like it once it picks up. i dont like the piano part but its not like i would skip it if i could just cause its part of the song but once it starts to pick up its a winner!

i've been listening to this song every morning when i wake up as part of my 'therapy'.

it's actually working, and i love this song to death- puts me in tears but gives me newfound strength. Words can't even describe how the song has touched my heart.

and lol if i could elope with this song, i swear i would. (*sigh* if only i could hear it live....)

By George you're right

when I heard it live, I also loved the piano part.

I don't know what happened, when I listened to the album it didn't have the same effect on me.

great song nonetheless, thumbs up

I love this song too,Love how it starts with the piano and ends with guitars and drums and I don't know how to describe it,but it's a great song, and it's among the ones I would really like to hear live.

The piano intro sounds a lot like YOUR SONG from Elthon Jhon, and the rest of the song is a mixture of "Letterbomb" and "Stuck with me"

I agree with Letterbomb, but I hear absolutely none of Stuck With Me

Always liked the piano intro - very well sung. It took me a while to get into the rest of it but now I think it's really energetic and one of the best. "Don't lose your faith to your lost naiveté" is a great line.

I love that whole beginning part, can't stop listening to it at the moment,

"Eternal youth is a landscape of a lie

The cracks in my skin can prove

As the years will testify"

Such a great line.

Just a great song

I think it's the only song that the piano intro doesnt fit the song.

what are you talking about? yes it does! it's like two songs in one.

I agree with Letterbomb, but I hear absolutely none of Stuck With Me

that's what makes it a great song. it has that epically awesome feeling that "Letterbomb" does. with the lyrics and the atmosphere of the song.

sure, other songs people think are good because they are "catchy". but those are the songs that people often get sick of.

My absolute favorite song off the album.

I wouldnt even mind if the entire song was like the beginning.

I love the beginning of it...it's so beautiful, with the piano, and I'm pretty sure I hear violins and a cello in there with it.

The chord progressions are exactly like Letterbomb...which I guess is cool cuz I love Letterbomb.

it is so gorgeous

I memorized it on piano and play it daily
