Haniik Posted August 16, 2010 Posted August 16, 2010 I just don't know why, but I don't like this song... It has great energy and I love the live version, but I just can't stand it on album...
Vrock09 Posted August 16, 2010 Posted August 16, 2010 I like Know Your Enemy live version more than studio version =) agreed! Its so much better live
ethanzh Posted August 19, 2010 Posted August 19, 2010 I dont know why everyone thinks this song sucks. i think its great. its fun to play the solo on guitar
RockSeason Posted August 19, 2010 Posted August 19, 2010 My 1st Green Day song and I believe it's the best one. I discovered Rock and Green Day thanks to that song. And I used to listen a song utmost 1 month. But I listen "Know Your Enemy" since last year (everyday) and i think the lyrics are amazing. this song really rocks...
fadi_7 Posted August 19, 2010 Posted August 19, 2010 i love it well one of my fave songs in the album
TheCreativeJon Posted September 7, 2010 Posted September 7, 2010 I'm not a huge fan of the song, but it's easy to cover!
Guest Posted September 22, 2010 Posted September 22, 2010 I enjoy this song so much more live. Otherwise, it's just sort of "okay" to me.
jensername Posted September 24, 2010 Posted September 24, 2010 This was also my least favorite. When I first got to hear it though, I think I put that shit on repeat for quite some time lol. I still like the song, but it does get kind of repetitive.
Alan86 Posted October 4, 2010 Posted October 4, 2010 Always liked this song but I thought it was a bit too repititive. over the last few weeks though I can't get enough of it. I just love the intro drums and when the guitar riff starts. Definitely one of my favourite songs to listen to when i'm driving, I don't notice the repitition as much anymore either, I just appreciate the song for what it is, a kick-ass rock song
EvanAsFuck Posted October 4, 2010 Posted October 4, 2010 Well it's definitely not one of my favorite songs, although whenever I hear it it makes me wanna jump up and dance! Although it's now taken on a completely different meaning since this is the song i got onstage for...
bjrules Posted October 4, 2010 Posted October 4, 2010 This is one of those songs which are great, but are about 50 times better live. The repetition in this song has never really bothered me, and its a fun and easy song to play on guitar so I have no problem with it.
sampy Posted October 4, 2010 Posted October 4, 2010 In my opinion, Know Your Enemy as great choice for first single, the fail of promotion is not KYE's fault. The album wouldn't done anymore better if they'd chose another song for the first single. For me, Know Your Enemy is one of my favorite songs from the album. It's just so energetic and powerful. I love the drum intro and when it comes into the guitar riff! Also this song means a lot to me, because I got to the stage with Billie during this tune. For me, Know Your Enemy is a great, full of energy, rock-your-balls-out song!
Daughter.of.Rage.and.Love Posted November 4, 2011 Posted November 4, 2011 I totally just realized that "know your enemy" means that you have to know the enemy, aka the people ruining the world and whatnot, the rest of the album (21stCB the song) and all that. Know, recognize the enemy. Why did that take me two and a half years to realize, it's so simple! I never dived into the lyrics of this song, but even then it's still so obvious. Bump!
ScatteredPictures Posted November 4, 2011 Posted November 4, 2011 One of my first Green Day songs. I listened to it non stop back then. Today I'm not listening to it very often but it still has a special place in my heart because it's on of the songs that made me see how awesome Green Day is.
Christian's Inferno! Posted August 5, 2015 Posted August 5, 2015 I think it's probably one of the songs I like least in 21CB but it's still really good. I just don't understand why they didn't pick the song 21st Century Breakdown as the lead single. That song is epic as FUCK
desertrose Posted August 5, 2015 Posted August 5, 2015 I love this song. But I agree, 21st Century Breakdown would have been a great lead single to. I can listen to both of these songs multiple times and not be tired of them.
Guest Posted August 5, 2015 Posted August 5, 2015 Epic bumpage. The song on the album is just another blah, mid-tempo arena rocker. I actually really like the live version, with its heavier guitars and faster pace.I'd like to say that 21CB would have been a terrible lead single, but Bohemian Rhapsody blew England apart when it was released, and 21CB is basically Green Day's homage to/ripping off of Bo Rhap...
Todd Posted August 5, 2015 Posted August 5, 2015 It's a Green Day song, I can't say it's all too bad but yeah, the title track is the best of the album. I think 21CB was a great follow up to American Idiot. I don't listen to the album or the songs very much, but when I do, it's a great experience
