Clayish Posted October 26, 2009 Posted October 26, 2009 Favourite song on the album by far the only thing that I don't really like is the Intro after they changed it from the Demo version of the song. I loved the innocent Piano bit at the start and when it rolled into the drum Solo then boom 21st Century Breakdown was upon you. I also like the way Billie used the working Class Hero Lyric and incorporated that into this song it really sets the mood.^ Zebrahead FTW.
St.jimmys_son@hotmail.com Posted October 29, 2009 Posted October 29, 2009 I did really, really like the demo version of it, especially the lyrics, I mean 80% of them are the same in the final studio version, like "From Mexico to the Berlin wall," was a really good line and sounds much better than the line they changed it to.Completely agree. Most the lines were better. However, the intro wasn't as good.Although atleast that way it wasn't a clone of 'See the Light'.
Maddy. Posted October 31, 2009 Posted October 31, 2009 Although atleast that way it wasn't a clone of 'See the Light'. What the hell?
Metanoia Posted October 31, 2009 Posted October 31, 2009 well..i really have to admit that i liked the demo version of it waaaaaaay better but it rocks though great song and i can't stop listening to it over and over again....... <3
Sarahnade. Posted November 15, 2009 Posted November 15, 2009 I downloaded the demo version of it from LimeWire. I remember listening to it all day, everyday when it came out because I couldn't get enough of it. I mean..ALL. DAY. Nothing else. And listening to it now, months later, seriously brought tears to my eyes. It's so wonderful. I love the intro so much. And "From Mexico to the Berlin Wall", "I am exempt from this tragedy and the 21st century fall," "Bleed, America, bleed," and "There is a war that's inside my head that questions the results and lies. I'm breaking my back 'till I'm damn near well dead.." parts are so fucking amazing, imo. I remember those being my favorite lyrics from the song, and then they take them out/change them! And Billie sings some of the lyrics slightly differently. I don't know, I love it so much. Once again, I'm listening to it and nothing else ALL. DAY.

Kryssi. Posted November 15, 2009 Posted November 15, 2009 I think this is my personal favourite from the album..
Sarahnade. Posted November 16, 2009 Posted November 16, 2009 ^I've been listening to it a lot lately, and it's becoming one of my favorites.I'd think it would be your favorite since it's the song you got pulled up during.
Bubbles. Posted November 21, 2009 Posted November 21, 2009 It's gotta be my favourite song off the album, it's amazing... I absolutely love the lyrics to this <3
Isabel Posted November 21, 2009 Posted November 21, 2009 Listening to it right now."I've given my heart and my soul"
Kryssi. Posted November 21, 2009 Posted November 21, 2009 *hug* I think I'm going to listen to it on repeat.
Brandon R. Posted November 23, 2009 Posted November 23, 2009 I think you could make a case for this being the best track on the album. It's so diverse. The arrangement and the lyrics... amazing. I have a hard time listening to this track just once.I think the video adds a lot to it as well. My new favorite.
Sofiispunking. Posted November 24, 2009 Posted November 24, 2009 21st. Century Breakdown !! ♥ I can't say anything bad bout it. It's perfect. When I first heard the cd, when this song started... I dropped a couple of tears, you know xD Awesome lyrics, and I was smiling alone when the final solo started..! I felt so happy when I first heard it!! LOVE IT. LOVE GREEN DAY. THEY ROCK WITH THIS SONG!! ♥
Alan86 Posted November 28, 2009 Posted November 28, 2009 I was listening to the Demo the other day and when it got to the last part when he says "Heros and cons" It brought back the feelings of anticipation for what was going to be in the rest of the album i had before the album came out. This song and East Jesus Nowhere are the strongest on the album in my opinion
E!!i Posted December 3, 2009 Posted December 3, 2009 The video to 21st Century Breakdown is the best video from the new album.
umbjisfhinefum Posted December 4, 2009 Posted December 4, 2009 i'd never heard the demo before...but i just listened to it and am in love with it! the lyrics are awesome...
Bubbles. Posted December 6, 2009 Posted December 6, 2009 The video to 21st Century Breakdown is the best video from the new album.AGREED!
Isabel Posted December 6, 2009 Posted December 6, 2009 The video to 21st Century Breakdown is the best video from the new album.I don't think it has much to compete with, to be honest. Know Your Enemy and 21 Guns are both quite poor in my opinion. But I really LOVE the East Jesus Nowhere and American Eulogy tour videos
umbjisfhinefum Posted December 8, 2009 Posted December 8, 2009 maybe this has been asked earlier in the topic...but does anyone have a link to download the DEMO??or does anyone wanna email the file to me??ebethsette@gmail.comthanks
