steinchen Posted November 21, 2009 Posted November 21, 2009 I get goose bumps and my heart beats faster when I hear the song.If its the right expression, sorry my english isn't hat good^^
Bubbles. Posted November 21, 2009 Posted November 21, 2009 Absolutely beautiful, I agree with Tony when he said it deserves to be a song of it's own.It was one of the most tearful/beautiful moments of my life when everyone sang this at the Glasgow/London shows.I always listen to this, and then 21st Century Breakdown straight after... it always brings back the memories that made the two most amazing nights of my life
Isabel Posted November 21, 2009 Posted November 21, 2009 I always listen to this, and then 21st Century Breakdown straight after... it always brings back the memories that made the two most amazing nights of my life Same And I love turning up the intro to 21st CB really loud, because it just brings me right back to Belfast/Dublin/Manchester. Amazing
Bubbles. Posted December 6, 2009 Posted December 6, 2009 I can't get enough of this.Same And I love turning up the intro to 21st CB really loud, because it just brings me right back to Belfast/Dublin/Manchester. Amazing :wub:Same, only it's memories from Glasgow and London for me
Li Sa Posted December 30, 2009 Posted December 30, 2009 it's a good intro. reminds me in some ways of a hymn but I can't really see it as an own song for me it belongs to 21st CB
minorty13 Posted January 8, 2010 Posted January 8, 2010 I love how this is sort of the prologue and introduction to all the chaos and madness in the album but also hints to the love and passion Everytime I heard this after the concert it brought me right back if that isn't cheesy enough
AnaArmstrong Posted January 20, 2010 Posted January 20, 2010 I believe it's a great intro! In particular it's great for the beginning of the concert! When the lights turned off and the song of the century started it was AMAZING! I was going to collapse!
Demented or Disturbed Posted February 7, 2010 Posted February 7, 2010 I can't get over how much I love this song. Everytime I hear it i get the image of camera footage of a wasteland, be it a deserted city or a war zone, with an old broken radio playing this somewhere in those places, giving it a really haunting feel. It also is perfect for setting the feel of the album. plus Billie's voice... it's so beautiful, and the lyrics. This song shows off just two of the things that got me into Green Day
P3AC3MAK3R Posted February 9, 2010 Posted February 9, 2010 We only geard the ending of this song at our show the croud was screaming really loud and thenwe all relised this was on ... we only got to hear the last 3 lines but still it was the begining of the bestest time ever !!!!!!
HaushinkaSins Posted February 12, 2010 Posted February 12, 2010 this song gives me the chills. in a good way. i think its underrated, but its so so amazing.
sampy Posted February 12, 2010 Posted February 12, 2010 Ah, memories memories. This is so awesome intro/song for an album and live show. It gives me goose bumps also and when I'm listening this it reminds me of that magical feeling in Globen, Stockholm before guys showed up on the stage. When Song of the Century started I was like: "Oh my god, here we go now." So awesome!
DecanoLP Posted February 13, 2010 Posted February 13, 2010 I love Song Of The Century. It's an amazing intro for a live show, all the memories come back when I listen to it. Everyone sings along, the lights go on and then the first guitar riffs from 21st CB.Amazing..can't wait to hear this this summer. Hopefully, they open with it again.
Just Kate Posted February 26, 2010 Posted February 26, 2010 great intro. really good. eve better than Offspring's
Devilsaint Posted March 5, 2010 Posted March 5, 2010 I get the chills when I think about hearing it as the first song at the show in Copenhagen.. The stage was sompletely dark and we coulden't see anybody up there. We were all like ''Okay, this is it!!'' And then Billie started singing Song Of The Century from behind the stage.. It was so awasome.. I'll never forget that...
Jacob. Posted March 11, 2010 Posted March 11, 2010 i liked this song more before it was released then after
Just Kate Posted March 12, 2010 Posted March 12, 2010 ^what do you mean by released? where can i hear it?
gdpony Posted March 21, 2010 Posted March 21, 2010 this is such a great intro! I love it!! ... though it doesnt prepare you for what is coming next
Anette Leone Posted March 22, 2010 Posted March 22, 2010 When I listened to that song by the first time I thought "I don't believe that I'm listening to something like this!" I've never heard to Billie Joe singing that way. Sooo beautiful! This song is a magnificent surprise,
leacalifornia Posted April 13, 2010 Posted April 13, 2010 I like to think of this song as the little tugboat pulling a huge ship out of the harbor... The first time I listened to the CD I thought something was wrong with it cause I couldnt hear anything until I turned up the volume really loud... then 21st Century Breakdown's piano rocked my car stereo. ahaha!
