murderotica Posted June 15, 2009 Posted June 15, 2009 one of my favorites cause it has this energy,no other song has from 21st CB
EmmOuGR Posted June 15, 2009 Posted June 15, 2009 Good to be included..I like the message it conveys and the whole song it's just great..
Jacinta Posted June 15, 2009 Posted June 15, 2009 To me, this song is pure, classic Green Day. And I am completely in love with it.Concur...I don't know what it is about it. To me it's old school and new age Green Day fused together perfectly.
Kaddi. Posted June 15, 2009 Posted June 15, 2009 I'm so glad that it was added to the album, it's one of my favorite songs. I just love how the lyrics and the music go together and really create this feeling of despair. Desperate would have been a better title though.
tapdancingowl Posted June 15, 2009 Posted June 15, 2009 I'm really glad they changed the title. Murder City just sounds so edgy. "The clock strikes midnightIn the murder city"For some reason, I love those lines. It feels like it's the end or something, like the Four Horsemen.
metalhead#87 Posted June 15, 2009 Posted June 15, 2009 This is probably my 3rd or 4th favorite.Yknow how in both gloria songs, at certain periods you can hear them yell "glooorrriiiiaaaa!"Right after Billie says "Christians crying in the bathroom" I have this urge to shout out "gloria!" like that.=P
TheMinority Posted June 16, 2009 Posted June 16, 2009 What!! If I had guess the last minute song for the album it wouldn't have been this one. It's perfect for it and really cool. I love the punky music and the happiness it brings when I listen to it. I get so hyper and concert-ready
OliDayyy Posted June 16, 2009 Posted June 16, 2009 One of my favorite songs!I read in their Kerrang Interview that they had to cancel some promo in Europe because they wanted to record that song, as it's the last they wrote/compose. I don't regret they took once more their time to make it!
DeJennsitized Posted June 17, 2009 Posted June 17, 2009 Eh, I don't listen to it as much as the other songs on the album.Still a great song, just happens to be my least favourite song, after See The Light.
NowhereBound Posted June 18, 2009 Posted June 18, 2009 This is one of my favorites, but I heard it live before the album version, and I like the live version MUCH better. Regardless, it is still an awesome song.
Green Day 13 Posted June 20, 2009 Posted June 20, 2009 i really like this song! i think it will be great played on tour
Guest Billy Posted June 21, 2009 Posted June 21, 2009 This will be a single; it's a good song, actually.
jose armstrong Posted June 21, 2009 Posted June 21, 2009 I like it, the simplicity in the lyrics goes great with the fast paced chorus.
Break of Day Posted June 22, 2009 Posted June 22, 2009 This is the best song on the record, definitely the most "Green Day" song anyway. Every other song is so complex compared to dookie/insomniac (or any other album except for AI, for that matter). Murder City is just great. I like the simple guitar solo as well.
bjrules Posted June 23, 2009 Posted June 23, 2009 I love this song The whole thing is perfect. I love the way he sings the whole "Christians crying in the bathroom" bit.
YORUGUA Posted June 24, 2009 Posted June 24, 2009 This is the closest song to be punk in this record, fast, powerfull, four chords and energetic!COOL!
J'net Posted June 27, 2009 Author Posted June 27, 2009 Love it. Easily in my top 3 favorites.I hope Billie does a full acoustic version sometime, like on Good Morning America even though it wasn't the whole thing. That was an amazing moment in Central Park, though I don't remember it being acoustic (I could be wrong, I admit). I think he was playing an electric guitar, but he was the only one playing and singing, and he was doing it with a much slower tempo than what's on the album. It really was beautiful ... almost like a ballad that should have been acoustic. I hope to hear him do that again sometime, too .
TheBullwinkle Posted June 27, 2009 Posted June 27, 2009 I love this song so much. Gives me goosebumps.
Sharmellow Posted June 27, 2009 Posted June 27, 2009 That was an amazing moment in Central Park, though I don't remember it being acoustic (I could be wrong, I admit). I think he was playing an electric guitar, but he was the only one playing and singing, and he was doing it with a much slower tempo than what's on the album. It really was beautiful ... almost like a ballad that should have been acoustic. I hope to hear him do that again sometime, too .Yes, it gave me goosebumps when I heard it. I love this song. His voice sounds amazing, as usual. And the music is near perfection.
gloria. Posted June 30, 2009 Posted June 30, 2009 I like the imagery that it creates in my mind.My favourite line from it is probably "Christian's crying in the bathroom." cause I don't know, it's just amazing. I love the version on Carson Daly!
Alan86 Posted June 30, 2009 Posted June 30, 2009 I rememeber seening an almost full live version of this on youtube a couple of weeks before the album was released and loving it instantly. Great yet simple song and one i hope they play on tour
