The Disappearing Boy Posted June 12, 2009 Posted June 12, 2009 Since Breakdown was pretty good, I'm guessing Green Day will have a world tour, some kind of Bullet in Bible like release, some side stuff again, and one more album. But 2015? No, my guess is they'll start writing again by the end of 2010.hell yeah, they're writing all the time, i would say.i guess three years. 2012 will be the year.
metalhead#87 Posted June 12, 2009 Posted June 12, 2009 hell yeah, they're writing all the time, i would say.i guess three years. 2012 will be the year.I agree with 2012. I don't think that theyre gonna be able to get away with another concept album without everyone bashing them, but it seems weird for 40 year old men to be writing about masturbation and shit. So I think the next album is gonna have theyre old punk sound, but the lyrics might be a little more mature.
EmmOuGR Posted June 12, 2009 Posted June 12, 2009 However if we think about it the last two albums which took the longest period to be written were the best and my opinion is that Green Day will get even better in their next albums..I mean American Idiot is the album that gave them that huge success..So if and only if their next album will be after a couple of years or so it will be worth waiting..
emmaILGD! Posted June 12, 2009 Posted June 12, 2009 If that's the trend, then after the next album...we'd have to wait for like, 7 years. And that would be crap.
amy_runs Posted June 12, 2009 Posted June 12, 2009 Maybe it will start going back down! So only a 4 year wait this time! Yee
jacknovella Posted June 12, 2009 Posted June 12, 2009 What I wanna know is, how far are Green Day gonna go? Can we expect their next album to be their last? I sure hope not, I know they're getting a little bit older so it makes sense.
amy_runs Posted June 12, 2009 Posted June 12, 2009 What I wanna know is, how far are Green Day gonna go? Can we expect their next album to be their last? I sure hope not, I know they're getting a little bit older so it makes sense. They will make music until their fingers fall off and their voices run out. Even then they will still run around on stage
Mato Posted June 12, 2009 Posted June 12, 2009 When their next album comes out, American Idiot will be like, old shit.....
IzButt Posted June 12, 2009 Posted June 12, 2009 oh gosh shut up LALALALALA*plugs ears and hits face on desk*I DON'T WANT TO WAIT THAT LONG FFFFFFOh well we'll just see what happens.Seeing Green Day grow older makes me feel sad for some reason. I mean I still believe they'll be awesome like 50-60 years from now XD But I dunno man.
LouLou Posted June 12, 2009 Posted June 12, 2009 This is something that I've definitely thought about. I hope it doesn't take that long.
forget_me_nots Posted June 12, 2009 Posted June 12, 2009 Seeing Green Day grow older makes me feel sad for some reason. I mean I still believe they'll be awesome like 50-60 years from now XD But I dunno man.Me, too. It's kinda depressing. I noticed the trend, too. My God, I'd be done with high school AND college if they took till 2015!!! >.< I would DIE. I hope the trend starts to go backwards, haha, so it's only four years till the next. But that's still an awful long time. I hope they don't take too long. I think even if they rushed in the next one it would still be wonderful, cuz isn't that what they did with Insomniac? And it was amazing! I can't WAIT to see what they do next, I really wanna see an album that doesn't follow the rock opera format, I want a new album with just random songs. xD
Isabel Posted June 12, 2009 Posted June 12, 2009 God I hate this about society; people never seem to enjoy the moment as it's happening, they're always looking into the future and what's coming next. The album only just came out, lads. Relax, throw on the headphones and sink into the wonders of 21st Century Breakdown and enjoy it!!! Don't think about anything else for 69 minutes.
dirnt286 Posted June 12, 2009 Posted June 12, 2009 I don't know guys. I count "time between albums" as the waiting time between the end of promotion and the release or pre-release promotion of the next album. I mean, between August/September of 2004 to December 2005, we weren't anticipating anew album because they were still promoting it and we were all still emotionally involved with it. I would say the "time between albums" (for example) such as American idiot and 21st Century Breakdown would be between January 2006 - May 2009. Maybe a little later or earlier on their end because we probably weren't expecting a new album 6 months after the end of touring and we began being teased about 21CB around January of this year.Still, that is a almost a 3 and 1/2 year gap, though.
Hermione Posted June 12, 2009 Posted June 12, 2009 I think it's more that they just really took their time with American Idiot and 21st CB. As they've said AI was kind of a new era and a more ambitious sound, so maybe they changed their approach and spent more time on it. Whereas before with the older albums the process was faster. So I'd say the length of time in between the albums being in that exact pattern is more of a coincidence - the only real trend being fast, then slower.
.Militza. Posted June 12, 2009 Posted June 12, 2009 I actually love the punk-rock opera concept of the album(s)It was great with AI,and it's even better with 21CB God only knows what will be with the next one And it's better to wait few years to get great, I mean great album, that want them to go with another one too soon, and ruin everything.
Jack96 Posted June 12, 2009 Posted June 12, 2009 Since Breakdown was pretty good, I'm guessing Green Day will have a world tour, some kind of Bullet in Bible like release, some side stuff again, and one more album. But 2015? No, my guess is they'll start writing again by the end of 2010.YEah because they started wrting straight after the AI tour and then they the Saints Are Coming, Simpson Theme, Working Class Hero and FBHT so there were some delays.
Guest Shangri-La Posted June 12, 2009 Posted June 12, 2009 i swear half you people must be mentally challenged.
Muttweed182 Posted June 13, 2009 Posted June 13, 2009 I really think it's to early to be thinking about these kind of things but I understand the excitement of it. I think that Green Day will tour tour tour until like the end of 2010 start writing again. I think that Billie is hinting on some sort of new punk rock side project with that China Punk album he's been talking about. Then Green Day will release a album. Yippee. But lets enjoy the 21st Century Breakdown it needs our love.
Sharmellow Posted June 13, 2009 Posted June 13, 2009 International Superhits, Shenanigans, Foxboro Hot Tubs and the Network. Count those in as well.
thisisAB Posted June 13, 2009 Posted June 13, 2009 I noticed that a few months ago and was gonna make a topic but then decided it was useless lol. I predict the realease date to be 2011-2012. They won't take that long anymore.
St. Matt Posted June 13, 2009 Posted June 13, 2009 I've always hated trends. But I don't see that happening, 6 years is too long for them too.
Katherine Posted June 13, 2009 Posted June 13, 2009 I wouldn't be stressing out about this, considering they JUST released a new album.
belinda jane Posted June 13, 2009 Posted June 13, 2009 LOL. the album hasn't even been out a month yet, and you guys are already stressing when the new album is going to be released.
dumbell2424 Posted June 13, 2009 Posted June 13, 2009 The Network has a new album planned, and there are rumors for another Foxboro album. :/2015 may be realistic.
LouLou Posted June 13, 2009 Posted June 13, 2009 ^ if there is more Foxboro and the rumors are true, then the wait won't be so bad. Though I hope it doesn't take 6 years, I could definitely handle more Foxboro. I think I could wait for another round of that.
