gabbag Posted October 6, 2009 Posted October 6, 2009 So I was listening to Warning the other day and I was discussing with my mom how it was the best album ever and she told me that at first she didn't like it that much but after hearing it reacently, after 21st Century Breakdown came out she likes it more because she likes 21CB and sees the similarities and now likes Warning more
¡VivaLaAndrea! Posted October 6, 2009 Posted October 6, 2009 Pretty sure you could take any song on the planet and find similarities between it and another song.21st Century Breakdown: Similar to Jesus of Suburbia's "City of the damned" and to Longview's drummingDamn. You'd almost think it was the same drummer or something.Trippy.
VanessaIsh Posted October 6, 2009 Posted October 6, 2009 Anyone noticed the chorus for see the light sound a lot like i just died in your arms tonight, yknow that one song by cutting crew?O____O

1000SlappyHours Posted October 9, 2009 Posted October 9, 2009 The chorus of 21 guns sounds like the chorus of Telephone Line by ELO.
Greenday_Aussie Posted October 9, 2009 Posted October 9, 2009 Oh yeah, KYE, Rebel Girl and Extraordinary Girl all have the same drum intro.
Lauren Posted October 9, 2009 Author Posted October 9, 2009 Extraordinary girl is like this complex beat and stuff... KYE is this simple rock beat. They sound nothing alike.
¡VivaLaAndrea! Posted October 10, 2009 Posted October 10, 2009 Sounds the same to me.You appear to be the only one
Greenday_Aussie Posted October 10, 2009 Posted October 10, 2009 The intros Im talking about, not the whole song, just the intro, I can hear the same beat. Just listened to it then, if you cant hear the same drum beat (INTRO ONLY) your deaf. They are the same. Snare, Snare, Bass, Snare, Bass. Repeat. Except Tre added a Crash into the mix for EG.
Lauren Posted October 10, 2009 Author Posted October 10, 2009 ohhhh you don't mean the intro! you mean when the song kicks in. yeah, it's the same but with a high hat
Maddy. Posted October 10, 2009 Posted October 10, 2009 The Static Age reminds me of something, I can't remember what.
Greenday_Aussie Posted October 11, 2009 Posted October 11, 2009 ohhhh you don't mean the intro! you mean when the song kicks in. yeah, it's the same but with a high hat-___-
nimrod-41 Posted October 11, 2009 Posted October 11, 2009 I just noticed that the feedback beeping that leads into Murder City is the exact same feedback beeping that's at the end of London Calling by The Clash.Seeing as Green Day are fans of The Clash, maybe this isn't a coincidence..
Superfizz Posted October 11, 2009 Posted October 11, 2009 it's a bit hard to come across a song that doesn't sound like another. These days every song on the radio sounds like several others. It's when they sound exactly the same, I start ripping my hair out. I heard some pop singing bitch with the exact same backing music to Stevie Wonder's 'Superstition'.But what bugs me even more is when they don't even try to make it sound different. I heard a band remake 'Every move she makes' by The Police into a rap song. And another band remixed Tiny Dancer by Elton John into some cheap, pop music. I swear, our music industry has lost their minds!!I love Green Day for being different, aha. I must admit 1 or 2 of their songs do sound similar to some of their old music, but that's okay, because it's their own music. They're being themselves.

St. Banana Posted October 12, 2009 Posted October 12, 2009 I think the start of Horsechoes and Hand Grenades slightly sounds like the start of What I like About You by the romantics.
Greenday_Aussie Posted October 12, 2009 Posted October 12, 2009 I noticed the London Calling thing just two days ago!Thought it was cool.
Lauren Posted October 12, 2009 Author Posted October 12, 2009 I think the start of Horsechoes and Hand Grenades slightly sounds like the start of What I like About You by the romantics.Every time I hear that chord progression, I think of that song!Except, I hear it more in "Pieces of Truth" by FBHT than H&H.Then again, H&H sounds like Piece of Truth
BuriedInAHole Posted October 12, 2009 Posted October 12, 2009 Horseshoes and Hangranades definitely sounds like ,,Main Offender" by The Hives.
