.Militza. Posted August 20, 2009 Posted August 20, 2009 I can see slightly similarities in between Hold on, and Peacemaker.
Bolanic Posted August 20, 2009 Posted August 20, 2009 My two cents:Last Night On Earth sounds like Because by the Dave Clark 5.21 Guns sounds like a combination of All the Young Dudes by Mott The Hoople and Telephone Line by ELO.Before The Lobotomy sounds like Mr. Lonely by Bobby Vee.Restless Heart Syndrome sounds like New Years Day by U2.The Static Age sounds like The Jonas Brothers.By the way, Gloria is not a song by Patti Smith! It's by a 60's band called Them (with Van Morrison on vocals). Patti Smith did a cover of it. You kids.
gd_castaway08 Posted August 20, 2009 Posted August 20, 2009 The Static Age sounds like The Jonas Brothers.Er... I dunno if or is appropriate.
Bolanic Posted August 20, 2009 Posted August 20, 2009 Before The Lobotomy sounds like Mr. Lonely by Bobby Vee.Opps. I meant Bobby Vinton.
Bolanic Posted August 20, 2009 Posted August 20, 2009 Restless Heart Syndrome sounds like New Years Day by U2.And I meant Sunday Bloody Sunday, not New Years Day. Damn, I should take my meds more often!
tangerbabii58 Posted August 20, 2009 Posted August 20, 2009 "The Static Age" on 21CBD sounds similar to "Church On Sunday" and "Deadbeat Holiday" hah but it's really good!
Nzap Posted August 21, 2009 Posted August 21, 2009 "The Static Age" on 21CBD sounds similar to "Church On Sunday" and "Deadbeat Holiday" hah but it's really good! You could read the previous posts. This has now been stated about 5 times on each page. Not to be rude or anything
my danish romance Posted August 22, 2009 Posted August 22, 2009 For some reason "21 Guns" reminds me of "complicated" by avril Lavigne... the beginning atleast...
The Punk Posted August 24, 2009 Posted August 24, 2009 The begining of Reject and Hearts Collide is similar (even some of the singing)
heartscollide Posted August 24, 2009 Posted August 24, 2009 The intro for Know Your Enemy sounds exactly like the intro for a Bikini Kill song named Rebel Girl:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mZxxhxjgnC0
Jack96 Posted August 24, 2009 Posted August 24, 2009 the beggining of Before The Lobotomy is almost identical to the beggining of Nickelback's Far Away.Thats true i just compared them they do ha
GreenDay808 Posted August 24, 2009 Posted August 24, 2009 The intro for Know Your Enemy sounds exactly like the intro for a Bikini Kill song named Rebel Girl:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mZxxhxjgnC0holy shit thats freaky!!! haha you think they're fans???eh, maybe.

Jimmy Strummer Posted August 25, 2009 Posted August 25, 2009 My mom commented the other day on how Restless Heart Syndrome kinda sounds like any old Jewish tune.
Tomcat20 Posted August 25, 2009 Posted August 25, 2009 Did anyone already mentioned that the beginning of "21stCB" sounds exactly like "Dream Police" by Cheap Trick?http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MjMCaw4qzjgSry if it was aready posted. Didnt follow the thread.
Hermione Posted August 25, 2009 Posted August 25, 2009 holy shit thats freaky!!! haha you think they're fans???eh, maybe. You're right! They're big fans of Bikini Kill, Billie's mentioned them many times. There's a Bikini Kill album called 'Reject All American' that must've inspired that line in Reject, and their lead singer Kathleen Hanna sings the intro on Letterbomb. Billie's sideband Pinhead Gunpowder even have a song about her. So it could easily be that they were at least partly inspired by Rebel Girl on Know Your Enemy, even if it is a common beat. Especially with the songs' shared themes of rebellion.
mallorymaloney Posted August 25, 2009 Posted August 25, 2009 The start of Know Your Enemy and Change The World by Joan Jett and the Blackhearts sounds similar to me.
Lauren Posted October 5, 2009 Author Posted October 5, 2009 Did anyone already mentioned that the beginning of "21stCB" sounds exactly like "Dream Police" by Cheap Trick?http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MjMCaw4qzjgSry if it was aready posted. Didnt follow the thread.lol! you're right. that's freaky.
BIBARAGURORIA Posted October 5, 2009 Posted October 5, 2009 Now that I'm listening to "Main Offender" by the Hives, I can definitely see the similarities between it and "Horseshoes and Handgrenades." I think I still prefer "Horseshoes and Handgrenades," though.Does anybody know if Green Day are fans of the Hives?
St. Banana Posted October 5, 2009 Posted October 5, 2009 hey is there a thread for any other songs that sound the same...not just ones off 21CB?or even non green day songs?
Lauren Posted October 5, 2009 Author Posted October 5, 2009 hey is there a thread for any other songs that sound the same...not just ones off 21CB?or even non green day songs?I was thinking about having a mod change the title of the thread so it can be about any GD song.
