mallorymaloney Posted June 12, 2009 Posted June 12, 2009 Uh oh. All of you Avril hatahz --- As in, 95% of GDC's members --- Are gonna freak out over something I just noticed about ¡Viva La Gloria! ... But I shall trek bravely onward, as I myself am an Avril fan, haha.Listen to ¡Viva La Gloria! from 1:50 onwards.Next, listen to Avril Lavigne's song Girlfriend from 0:36 onwards.Pay close attention to the guitar riffs --- Girlfriend's has a slightly lower tempo, but other than that, the two are basically fuckin' identical.
Supermodel*Robot Posted June 13, 2009 Posted June 13, 2009 Horseshoes & hand grenades sounds like Twist n' Shout. The "i'm not fucking around" melody & guitar partAnd I swear the chorus to the Static Age is just his lyrics put to another song"I can't see a thing in the video / I can't hear a thing on the radio"That has been stolen form something, I just can't put my finger on it.

Renjini Posted June 15, 2009 Posted June 15, 2009 the beginning of the guitar solo of the static age reminds me of all the small things
Lauren Posted June 17, 2009 Author Posted June 17, 2009 And I swear the chorus to the Static Age is just his lyrics put to another song"I can't see a thing in the video / I can't hear a thing on the radio"That has been stolen form something, I just can't put my finger on it.When I hear those lines, I think of Good Charlotte's "Waldorf Worldwide"We'll see you when we get there.on the video.on the radio.in the magazines.on the movie screens.

son Posted June 27, 2009 Posted June 27, 2009 Horseshoes & hand grenades sounds like Twist n' Shout. The "i'm not fucking around" melody & guitar partAnd I swear the chorus to the Static Age is just his lyrics put to another song"I can't see a thing in the video / I can't hear a thing on the radio"That has been stolen form something, I just can't put my finger on it.church on sunday chorus but toned down.i think i posted earlier alot of the songs sound like warning songs, which sound like older songs, because essentially its similar riffs but in a different tone
Sharmellow Posted June 27, 2009 Posted June 27, 2009 Viva la Gloria? (Little Girl) sounds like a combination of Blood, Sex and Booze and Misery. (To me, anyway)21 Guns sounds like this one song by Neil Diamond. I just can't remember the name of the song at this very moment.
sillybanana Posted June 27, 2009 Posted June 27, 2009 does it really matter? by copyright law you can get away anything less then 20 sec. so just enjoy the song and be happy about it.
AndrewW91 Posted June 28, 2009 Posted June 28, 2009 My friend pointed out to me the other day that the beat at the beginning of Know Your Enemy is exactly the same as the beat for the verses and part of the chorus in Extraordinary Girl.
Sharmellow Posted June 28, 2009 Posted June 28, 2009 My friend pointed out to me the other day that the beat at the beginning of Know Your Enemy is exactly the same as the beat for the verses and part of the chorus in Extraordinary Girl. That's true.As proof, check the concert in Warfield at the audio downloads section. When I first listened to it, I was like, this sounds like Know Your Enemy.
Mari91 Posted June 28, 2009 Posted June 28, 2009 i feel the whole 21 century breakdown album reminds me of warning.Especially Viva La Gloria (little Girl)
