.Brian Posted June 6, 2009 Posted June 6, 2009 Some of tehs onsg off 21st Century Breakdown look pretty challengingnah i don't think so...but they are really fun to play.
Sharmellow Posted June 6, 2009 Posted June 6, 2009 .... pervertBet you were thinking of the same thing too though. I'm thinking either Take Back or Playpus. Those two are pretty fast songs.
Foxboron Posted June 7, 2009 Posted June 7, 2009 Bet you were thinking of the same thing too though. I'm thinking either Take Back or Playpus. Those two are pretty fast songs.i didnt notice it before you quoted it...
Ila Reto Posted June 7, 2009 Posted June 7, 2009 oh and when you make ur friend play these harder songs, try to get the songs with just the guitar, bass and vocals. it's harder when having to listen to the other instruments (its distracting imo) and still keep track of what you're doing.
Spider Tre Posted June 7, 2009 Posted June 7, 2009 St. Jimmynah i don't think so...but they are really fun to play.they are! East Jesus Nowhere is probably the most fun to play for methat or Know Your Enemy
DisappearingBoy95 Posted June 8, 2009 Posted June 8, 2009 None of them are particularly hard. Tre does use a lot of short fast fills in many songs, but they are easy to learn and always center around a similar rhythm or concept. The main thing is being able to play those fast eighth notes that Tre pounds out on the hi hat. I know I can play all the way through on most of them, but a lot of people I see do it, cant play the eighth notes all the way through and resort to quarter notes.
AtTheLibrary19 Posted June 8, 2009 Posted June 8, 2009 Yeah overall Tre's drums are pretty basic for punk rock, but actually decently complex for popular music or rock music. He doesn't have anything on Erik (Smelly)from NOFX though.
alexandrez Posted June 8, 2009 Posted June 8, 2009 Tre's drumming sounds easy, but it really isn't all that easy. loads of little details.that's why no one sounds like him.the use of ghost notes, hi-hat foot movements.. certain techniques he has developed over the years.i bet no one noticed ghostnotes on Burnout. my friend found them when he went looking for it.pretty interesting stuff.tell him to try burnout, armatage shanks, welcome to paradise, peacemaker (this is green day's fastest song with 8th notes so far), platypus (fastest song with quarter notes)... and even restless heart syndrome (for the ghost notes)he will probably bullshit his way on the songs. like, play it like he wants to, improvise everything. that is really easy with green day. try playing it like tre does, and you are in for a long ride.
Harriet Posted June 9, 2009 Posted June 9, 2009 Tre's drumming sounds easy, but it really isn't all that easy. loads of little details.I totally agree with that, i wish Tre was my drum teacher!! BTW, I love your youtube videos, you helped me learn the JoS solo, I love you for that
Opezi Posted June 18, 2009 Posted June 18, 2009 ok my friend thinks tre can't drum and im so pissed at him. ok does anyone know a song that shows tre's awesome drumming talent please
NowhereBound Posted June 18, 2009 Posted June 18, 2009 I think Platypus (I Hate You) would be the hardest since it's so fast, but I'm not sure cuz I don't play the drums...
alexandrez Posted June 18, 2009 Posted June 18, 2009 ok my friend thinks tre can't drum and im so pissed at him. ok does anyone know a song that shows tre's awesome drumming talent please burnout.the solo part specially.and welcome to paradise breakdown.and you should tell him that tre plays what is needed.that's what green day music asks for, that's what tre delivers as a drummer. solid, simple stuff most of the time.that's why tre is a really good drummer.he doesn't overdo the songs like loads of other drummers out there.
atara111 Posted June 18, 2009 Posted June 18, 2009 St. Jimmy and Platypus (I Hate You) sound kinda hardand Letterbomb as well
