Here is the fist article. Please overread the mistakes

In war and in love everything is allowed

Dookie, Insomniac, Nimrod, Warning – All of them are relics from another common era, long faded stars in a galaxy far away and since American Idiot just footnotes in the musical vita or Green Day – a band who branded the spirit of the time as no other, who was very branded by their home, the north Californian East Bay. We looked around there:

Thanks for the translation! :D

The first part of the second page. I'll post more later.

"Welcome to my church", says the in Frankfurt(am Main) borned son of a Vietnam War-experienced helicopter pilot, who was born Frank Edwin Wright III aka Tré Cool. And the best: "You can even smoke pot in here." Tré parked only a small part of his drum collection in the 880-practise-complex, "the rest fills a warehouse a few miles further." Cool's a collector as you can see: The top floor of the band's own studio belongs to the man with the funny voice and it's filled with a bunch of snare drums in all kind of shape and collor. As a recent new additions to his collection Tré has various South American percussion instruments, which didn't just took to Oakland from Brazil and Cuba, he had a full practise lesson: "Two weeks, I played every day for four to five hours on Kongas and bongos until I mastered the rhythm. I had a good teacher, who lived somewhere in the mountains to Havana, and I hitchhiked to him every day out, drank espresso with rum and practiced my instrument. Almost as before," enthuses the hobby hunter who likes to hunt in the Redwoods illegal and now he sits on his drum stool like a king in the throne room, surrounded by his subjects.

oh yeah, the rest of the translation:

How often has Billie left this building in a mad rush?

Cool: I have not counted. He picked to pieces every song and thought about every word three times. You have to imagine this like this: In Billie brain every song from 21st CB rotated in the last three years - in different volume - that's a real torture.

Armstrong: My main problem was that I've questioned myself constantly. I wanted to fulfil my ambitionens

Dirnt: Sometimes we felt like Mike Tyson: With American Idiot we knocked out pretty much eevery opponent. We were the only one left, and that hurts.

Initial spark for "American Idiot" was the need to make an political statement - in the form of a "punk opera". What was this your engine with this record?

Cool: Billie and I were at the baptism of a friend's child and the priest just told us shit: You should always keep your mouth shut nicely, just do what you are told and stuff like that. Previously I smoked a joint and I pissed myself laughing - especially when he was at the end of the exhibition and lifted his hand and said: "Oh, you can donate over there by the way." Billie came to the studio the next day and said only: "Check this out ... "

Armstrong: The church was only a source of inspiration for the "East Jesus Nowhere" and do not necessarily represent the vital spark. There are different things playing a bigger role: Oakland, Detroit, oceans and water in general. This has probably to do that I've started surfing.

Couldn't you make a "normal" album instead of making another, free, concept album.

Cool: There are even people who say "Hey, go back to your roots, orient yourself by 'Dookie'!" I've never heard anything more stupid.

Armstrong: The difference between our "first" breakthrough "Dookie" and the recent success with "American Idiot" is that we are ready for it this time. We were simply overwhelmed and totally confused with Dookie, so we wanted that thing as quick as possible buried. We didn't top it with Insomniac and we don't want that to happen again. We knew that "American Idiot" brought us a second spring and to leave it like that we had to strech us.

Billie, one last question: A word liek "asphyxiating" in the song "American Eulogy" - do you have that in your vocabulary or did you need to look it up?

Armstrong: That word I knew. It means something like "to choke at your own vomit." But yeah, sometimes I find my rhythm words in a lexicon. I mean, where should I hear them else? I left school to early...

There are maybe a few grammar or spelling mistaked...

Thanks ^

That last question is weird but interesting still

wow that explains it then, they had a youtube link to keyboard Cat the other week and it was to a member on here's account. Didn't even bother reuploading it. They've stolen quite a few people's scans as well

If it's any consolation, GDA/C craps on GD.net and GD.com from a great height. Especially GD.net, that only updates about once a week and usually it's a 'helpful' reminder to buy something anyway

This is one I am definitely going to try to get. The covers are way too cool not to.

Can't read a lick of German, but that is OK. I still want it.

Wow thanks for all the translations, much appreciated. I enjoyed Tre saying, "There are even people who say "Hey, go back to your roots, orient yourself by 'Dookie'!" I've never heard anything more stupid." Haha I agree :D

Thanks ^

That last question is weird but interesting still

 "Did you have to look that word up Billie?" How rude!

Amen to that. And what a bunch of thieves.
