.Militza. Posted June 12, 2009 Posted June 12, 2009 I have a feeling that when EJN itself is released as a single and a wider audience hears it... well, it may be only the beginning of "righteous indignation." I can't wait for heads to explode...but that's just me. I may be projecting, but I have seen and heard way too many things from folks like this reviewer and have learned that they don't know when to let it go. EJN is a powerful song with a pointed message about religion. It's bound to raise some brows. I don't think Billie Joe would have written it if he didn't think it wouldn't cause some commotion.Same here. And I can't wait for that to happen
Yuck Posted June 13, 2009 Author Posted June 13, 2009 your welcome!I never thought my first thread would be this sucessfull

Hermione Posted June 14, 2009 Posted June 14, 2009 I see the same site also has a review of Insomniac:http://www.pluggedinonline.com/music/music/a0000727.cfm"On 'Geek Stink Breath' Billie Joe Armstrong sings, 'I'm on a mission/I made my decision to lead a path of self-destruction.' Pray that teens don't follow him."
J'net Posted June 14, 2009 Posted June 14, 2009 I see the same site also has a review of Insomniac:http://www.pluggedinonline.com/music/music/a0000727.cfm"On 'Geek Stink Breath' Billie Joe Armstrong sings, 'I'm on a mission/I made my decision to lead a path of self-destruction.' Pray that teens don't follow him." Amazing how they take everything so literally!
GDM Posted June 14, 2009 Posted June 14, 2009 And American Idiot...http://www.pluggedinonline.com/read/read/a0003603.cfmThe review is a little more thoughtful, but not by much.
Holden Caulfield Posted June 14, 2009 Posted June 14, 2009 My favorite part is their censoring of b--tard. I'm just going to start calling people btards now. I like the sound of it.
FJ Posted June 14, 2009 Posted June 14, 2009 Here's the topless Gloria(mind you, you can't really see anything). Side boob.Heh, side boob. I never noticed that, nor am I offended by it. Assholes.Personally, I thought the album was more about hope than despair. But, then again, I thought MCRs 'Three Cheers...' was about hope. I might just be a little bit mental. http://www.pluggedinonline.com/discernment/a0003355.cfmAnd that, which I just found on the same site, is why I have no time for religion!
Leisha-LUNA Posted June 15, 2009 Posted June 15, 2009 http://www.pluggedinonline.com/discernment/a0003355.cfmAnd that, which I just found on the same site, is why I have no time for religion!Oh dear lord! That article is ridiculous.4) Use (and teach) the WWJD concept. Ask, "What would Jesus watch; what would Jesus listen to?" before renting a video, going to a movie or allowing a CD to blare forth its message in your home."Blare forth its message?" Are you serious? hahaha. The f-word peppers this 33-minute ode to self-loathing and despair.^That's from the Insomniac "review" and it really made me laugh.
Hermione Posted June 15, 2009 Posted June 15, 2009 ^LOL number 4 amused me too . I had an American friend at middle school who wasn't allowed to listen to any music that wasn't about Jesus or watch TV. I think her parents were following similar guidelines. It's mind-boggling that anyone can actually live like that.
