I thought it was a GREAT review, fuck yes it's about scary shit in a scary ass world. It's 21st Century Breakdown, not "I Like Sprinkles and Ponies". We have a lot of people, including ourselves, to blame for shit, and in the end all we can hope for is to "see the light."

I sort of agree...I mean, this guy seems like the type of religious nutbag who this album attacks at times. He's not supposed to like it. Of course though he takes the "Psh they don't know what they're talking about..." approach rather than actually taking the points Billie and co are trying to make. He sort of "gets" the album in that he sees the anger and paranoia and everything, but he sees it from that completely christian, "sprinkles and ponies" perspective and points it out as a negative thing. Not to mention he carefully selects lyrics to construct his own points...

And for the people wondering back on page 1 about how he came up with the part about not allowing Christians to have children...He doesn't say it directly but that's definitely a reference to the lines "I want to know who's allowed to breed/all the dogs who never learned to read".

My Favourite Line:

Unlike some artists who grow in maturity with time, Green Day seems trapped in a perpetual adolescence, ever more infatuated with the "romantic" anarchic ideal of burning it all to the ground.

That's Basically The Whole Idea Of Punk

Lol God and His Chronies Has B-Tard-ised 21st Century Breakdown... Fuck God

"hail of f-words"? They obviously don't know Green Day's past work.

Obviously not.

And They Obviously Haven't Heard "Like A Rat Does Cheese"

"Clearly, these guys are very angry, and it's hard at times to discern whom they hate more: Me, you, themselves, God, politicians or America in general"

I thought that was quite a witty statement. It made me laugh anyway.

It's strange how the author seems to think it's his duty to listen to albums in order to warn others away from it. Like they don't trust other Christians to make their own opinions about the music, in case they make the wrong opinion, which in itself is an oxymoron.

They certainly don't do much to fight off the prejudiced views of Christianity.

HAHAHAHAHA! Thanks for posting that! It was hilarious. They censored the word "bastard" b--tard! Hahhahaahhah!

And Gloria topless? WTF?!?!!

Indeed. I think someone had boobies on the mind when writing this review.

Better things came out of my arse.

Lameeee. I've read better reviews, fo' sure.

they are very mad....lol.

Well I would put it that the reviewer is more concerned of protecting his and other Christians' conscious than giving Green Day an unbiased review.

God was at Milton Keynes!! Bahaha..Gods allright, just not the reviewer in my mind lol.. "Why are there no clouds in the sky? Cause God wants to watch his favorite band again!"

I'm starting to hate my own religion after reading that (I'm a Lutheran)

It's religious people like that, that make other religious people look bad

Things like this happen when you're blinded by religion.

I can actually see the "they haven't grown" part as a compliment.

After all it's not like they've changed completely, and it can be taken as "they look young for their age".

That's exactly what EJN is about! Go Green Day! :>

Religion doesn't blind everyone. I can see past it.

Review=Fail. Most Biased review I have ever read, and I'm not just saying that because it was negative.

they spelt Billie wrong, thats reason enough to laugh at the article

ha ha what loosers! :D

LOL that was not a review, it was just a bunch of quoted lyrics and some seriously linear and closed minded opinions. hilarious, but for the wrong reasons

Yeah the quote is pretty much why I said that.

Every single time I watch that I roll with laughter.

I don't really think there is a god, but if there was, he/she/it would fucking love Green Day.

Gloria topless? O__o

And "adolescence"?

Putting out American Idiot and 21st Century Breakdown are probably the two most mature things they've ever done...

I have a feeling that when EJN itself is released as a single and a wider audience hears it... well, it may be only the beginning of "righteous indignation." I can't wait for heads to explode...but that's just me. I may be projecting, but I have seen and heard way too many things from folks like this reviewer and have learned that they don't know when to let it go. EJN is a powerful song with a pointed message about religion. It's bound to raise some brows. I don't think Billie Joe would have written it if he didn't think it wouldn't cause some commotion.
