Trina Posted September 9, 2009 Posted September 9, 2009 Cmon.. Prima Donna, I thought that Green Day could find a more well known act than that... Their music is alright tho.Green Day could probably have very high profile bands open for them. It doesn't mean they want to. Just because a band is famous doesn't mean it's better than an unknown band..I'd way prefer Prima Donna over almost all of the current mainstream rock bands.Hahaha, I'm so glad it's not MCR, FOB or any other crap like that.Same!! I was really worried it would be something like that.
IscoredWaddlesgoals Posted September 9, 2009 Posted September 9, 2009 Remind me, what would be the purpose of having a high profile band?A lot of big bands have well known support acts. U2 had Kaiser Cheifs as well and Coldplay are playing with Girls Aloud and Jay-Z. I did say that I assumed they might not have someone big though.
Mrs. Nobody Posted September 9, 2009 Posted September 9, 2009 Is it bad that I have never heard of Prima Donna?
DookieAdz Posted September 9, 2009 Author Posted September 9, 2009 Is it bad that I have never heard of Prima Donna?Your not the only one.
crazychic Posted September 9, 2009 Posted September 9, 2009 ive never heared of them but checked them out and wow lol i love their sound they are really good, soooo cant wait for the gig now
Storer Posted September 9, 2009 Posted September 9, 2009 I've only just checked these out, I'm liking them at the moment
GDM Posted September 9, 2009 Posted September 9, 2009 I know, I know. I'm not too bothered either, but there's too much bitchin'.Ha? Bitchin? This is nothing compared to the bitching in North America about the support, the setlists, the... consider yourselves lucky! And you know what? In the end the only thing that mattered was Green Day.
Psycho Britney Posted September 9, 2009 Posted September 9, 2009 I hope people do realise that joining the idiot club doesnt guarantee sound check passes! we got enough abuse off people complaining about tickets to shows! and the rest they expected to get! what was it? something like 50 people per venue got into sound checks for the US leg of the tour? and no doubt there will be the bands/record companies guest list of people wanting to get into these..... so how many tickets are they going to give away realistically? not a whole lot. join becuase you want to... and not just for this please! its one thing reading abusive comments about the idiot club and how its works/doesnt work.... being stuck in a queue with people complaining about it and well........ = me being polite. lolYour right in a way Netty. But to be fair the IC was advertising all sorts of things you'd get as a member, and then realised they'd got up the wrong things up/or decided to change the perks at one point! At least this was how it seemed to me!!Chickin' Pickin'-I've seen the Kaiser Chiefs and they put on a good show! But you'll have to wait a while to see them, because they've finished touring for a while and are having a rest!
*withoutadoubt* Posted September 9, 2009 Posted September 9, 2009 I don't get all the whining either? I am happy about Prima Donna opening myself. I am happy for them because they seem like great guys, Green Day obviously likes them, and Kevin Preston is just such a sweetheart. Their music - while it may not be everyone's taste - is pretty good, imo! Prima Donna may not be very well known, but has anyone around here heard of the Foxboro Hot Tubs? Kevin's in that band, too... Anyway, ^yes to whoever said that the only thing that really matters is Green Day.

I completely agree with you Cheryl.I think that Green Day purposely chooses lesser known bands to give those bands a big break AND to help keep ticket prices down. Keep in mind those lesser known bands cost a lot less money. And since they only play for about 1/2 hour and Green Day is on for more than 2 (sometimes even 3), the support band isn't really a big deal in the scheme of things.Edit: And this is all not to mention the fact that I quite like Prima Donna!
Kryssi. Posted September 9, 2009 Posted September 9, 2009 Maybe we should make a Prima Donna appreciation group..
**nobodylikesyou** Posted September 9, 2009 Posted September 9, 2009 I was wanting a more high profile act but for I assumed they'd go with someone less well know for some reason. It's a bit crap that the US get Franz & the Kaisers and we get someone that might be good, but we've (mostly) never heard of. The support in the US must have been more well known over there than Prima Donna are here.I know that I know plenty of music and never heard of any of the three support bands before the tour started. Neither had most people over here.....When you bought your "allegedly expensive" tickets you were buying them to see Green Day. and to everyone else, shut your fucking pie holes. You and your bitching is annoying.
farley drexel hatcher Posted September 9, 2009 Posted September 9, 2009 I've been listening to Prima Donna a lot today (thanks Hannah XD) and I have to say i'm really looking forward to it XDI dunno, I think this makes it that bit more personal what with there being the obvious connection/friendship between the bands there. I don't mind it being a lesser known band. I'm going for Green Day, after all, not the support act; i'm just lucky it's someone I like.

emmaILGD! Posted September 10, 2009 Posted September 10, 2009 Who cares we are going to have the best fuckin time ever Finally someone speaks some sense in this thread.
Hermione Posted September 10, 2009 Posted September 10, 2009 Who cares we are going to have the best fuckin time ever Oh yes I'm very pleasantly surprised that it's Prima Donna though, because I hate most bands I don't hate them . Plus, until recently I'd only heard one Prima Donna song and I thought it was OK but not that great, a bit boring. But now I've listened to more, turns out that one song happened to be the worst song of theirs I've heard - I love the rest! So very good. And I think it's great to see that Green Day are so obviously choosing their own support, and that they've chosen an unknown band that will actually benefit from the slot. Isn't that the point of support bands anyway?
Kryssi. Posted September 10, 2009 Posted September 10, 2009 Hopefully the first show and closing show on the UK tour will be 3 hours long.... I would've said all the dates, but we don't want our boys worn out, do we?
Hermione Posted September 10, 2009 Posted September 10, 2009 Hopefully the first show and closing show on the UK tour will be 3 hours long.... I would've said all the dates, but we don't want our boys worn out, do we?That's OK they can just do it on the 23rd
Kryssi. Posted September 10, 2009 Posted September 10, 2009 That's OK they can just do it on the 23rd Aww, are you not going to Wembley?
Hermione Posted September 10, 2009 Posted September 10, 2009 Aww, are you not going to Wembley? Nah. But I'm much more annoyed that I'm not going on the 24th, because I have a feeling they could do something special as it's the second night in the same venue. And if they do my brother will see it and I won't

Or is this another 'English' tradition I need to learn about? Hermione - we are just going to have to kidnap you overnight and force you to come to the show on the 24th!!
