GDM Posted August 5, 2009 Posted August 5, 2009 I just heard this Iranian indie band called Hypernova. Anybody ever heard of them? I think I might see them in NYC. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d_sxsKBVJDEThey sing in English: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hypernova_(band)

cabot gal Posted August 5, 2009 Posted August 5, 2009 Is it just me who's a little bit scared it's going to be a "normal" band XD y'know, a non Green Day in disguise band. They're taking so long with announcing it that my hopes get higher and higher each day.
Eirik Posted August 5, 2009 Posted August 5, 2009 Is it just me who's a little bit scared it's going to be a "normal" band XD y'know, a non Green Day in disguise band. They're taking so long with announcing it that my hopes get higher and higher each day.Yeah, same here. We also know it won't be AFI, btw. They have announced their tour. EDIT: Well, they can still do UK, just not the other parts of Europe.
farley drexel hatcher Posted August 6, 2009 Posted August 6, 2009 Is it just me who's a little bit scared it's going to be a "normal" band XD y'know, a non Green Day in disguise band. They're taking so long with announcing it that my hopes get higher and higher each day.Yeah, I think anyone they announce now will be a bit of a disapointment by default XDI went on The Network's website earlier hoping to find some kind of subtle hint, l(ike maybe Fink dressed in a union jack or something XD) but the page isn't even there anymore
Kryssi. Posted August 6, 2009 Posted August 6, 2009 ^ Yes, the Network page has been down for quite a few months. I remember going on there beginning of this year and they had " CUMMING SOON." on the front...but I wonder why they're taking so long? Maybe they haven't found a suitable support act at the moment?
kim246 Posted August 6, 2009 Posted August 6, 2009 mabey they have read this, know we are all waiting and just fuckin with us
cabot gal Posted August 6, 2009 Posted August 6, 2009 like maybe Fink dressed in a union jack or somethingthat would quite possibly be the best thing ever XD
GDM Posted August 6, 2009 Posted August 6, 2009 ^ Yes, the Network page has been down for quite a few months. I remember going on there beginning of this year and they had " CUMMING SOON." on the front...someone at the ic asked about the network site and I gave them this: http://www.thenetworkband.com/theNetwork.swf it works. it's all flash. I don't know what the previous website looked like. Not sure which incarnation this is?
Kryssi. Posted August 6, 2009 Posted August 6, 2009 Ah, I was still able to get onto a link that I found through Google and downloaded two songs of theirs. It's just a front that they've put up so no one can get on the site
Anja Posted August 6, 2009 Posted August 6, 2009 Yeah, same here. We also know it won't be AFI, btw. They have announced their tour. EDIT: Well, they can still do UK, just not the other parts of Europe. They did? *goes to check their website*Hmm, I´ve heard some certain people are checking this board every once in a while *crosses fingers and toes for The Network*
Nomis Posted August 6, 2009 Posted August 6, 2009 With all this talk of FBHT being the support, do we think it would really happen?? I know BJ has stated they have a enough to do a 4 hour show as Green Day and would one day like to achieve this. But if they are coming over to the UK for a 'GD tour' not a 'FBHT tour' then surely they are going to want to put all their energy into 1hr1/2 2hr GD set. However much i'd love to see FBHT on this euro tour, I personally can't see it happening, if it did it would only be on a couple of the bigger venues i.e. 02 London, Germany etc. Playing dates near enough constant as 2 seperate bands would take it out of any band, even if they were on first had a break while second act played then went on.Personally I can see the UK support being announced end of this month.
14razorbacks Posted August 6, 2009 Posted August 6, 2009 Green Day have been playing like 30 song sets in the States. I doubt they'd wanna a whole other set on top of that just before. Furthermore, FHT was never a secret in quite the way that the Network was. There were people watching the Network who genuinely had no idea it was GD - in fact, a fair few people! As with FHT, everyone would know.My guess would be broadway calls! Great band, released a record on Adeline, haven't toured with green day before. They announced ages ago that they 'had a tour soon with someone you're looking forward to seeing' (or something like that, I don't know the exact quote), and they aren't on the US tour leg. Plus they have no dates booked for around October time, which is when Green Day are in the UK! So it could be ^I AM AN IDIOT. apologies. broadway calls are totally booked up through october, what the hell am i talking about? How embarassing. Sorry.Or Jesse Malin, which would be beautiful too.
Nova-Caine Posted August 6, 2009 Posted August 6, 2009 They did? *goes to check their website*Hmm, I´ve heard some certain people are checking this board every once in a while *crosses fingers and toes for The Network*I second her request for The Network please *sigh* Finky *sigh* Well you never do know who's watching
Kryssi. Posted August 6, 2009 Posted August 6, 2009 I wanna see The Snoo do his thang in that bin bag skirt
mr_whatsisname Posted August 6, 2009 Posted August 6, 2009 there is no way that either of GDs side projects will be supporting, plus the joke has grown old...Anyway I wouldnt mind seeing a number of UK bands such as the blackout for example
Nomis Posted August 6, 2009 Posted August 6, 2009 there is no way that either of GDs side projects will be supporting, plus the joke has grown old...Anyway I wouldnt mind seeing a number of UK bands such as the blackout for exampleBiffy would be good support, but it will be an American band. Would still love to see TLE support but then i'm seeing them in Dec so don't mind if its not!
GDM Posted August 6, 2009 Posted August 6, 2009 I wanna see The Snoo do his thang in that bin bag skirt Seeing the Snoo in Albany torment the Bravery was one of the greatest things I've ever seen in my life.
blc Posted August 6, 2009 Posted August 6, 2009 i'm holding out for someone good but i got a feeling it's going to be someone i've never heard of.
Mrs. Nobody Posted August 6, 2009 Posted August 6, 2009 there is no way that either of GDs side projects will be supporting, plus the joke has grown old...Anyway I wouldnt mind seeing a number of UK bands such as the blackout for exampleOMGyes, but would they be the sort of band to open for GD?Won't be Billy Talent either, they're touring D=suspense..
Harriet Posted August 6, 2009 Posted August 6, 2009 I wish they'd hurry up and announce it already! So we can start the complaining about it not being one of the side projects...
Eirik Posted August 7, 2009 Posted August 7, 2009 I just checked, Jesse Malin and The Gasligh Anthem are playing together in the US October 12th and 13th, which means I won't see either, but it's still possible for the UK, at least. The Gaslight Anthem are full for most of October really.
