Juan Posted May 27, 2009 Posted May 27, 2009 New Dylan i aaaaahhhmazing. Why do people care about how many records they sell??I don't know, if I look over to my favorite music, I mean, Zen Arcade didn't sold shit and it's still a fucking amazing album, and if we go back to the 80's and stuff, who were on the Charts, Wham!, and Madonna, so it's always like that We are fans of a band that have a song that says "I Wanna be the Minority". Well, embrace that
n0s22 Posted May 27, 2009 Posted May 27, 2009 New Dylan i aaaaahhhmazing. Why do people care about how many records they sell??because that defines how much exposure they are getting .. defines creditability. 21st Cb is such a great album.
John McClane Posted May 27, 2009 Posted May 27, 2009 I don't know why anyone thought 21CB would sell close to 500 000 copies or so in its first week. I mean honestly. Green Day are very popular but those are some huge numbers that, in these days, only a few artists can pull off. And even they need good timing for it!I mean Em hasn't had an album out in 5 years and it's had pretty good word of mouth so I expected it to sell a lot. Maybe not 600 000 (!) but more than GD. I think a lot of you weren't old enough when Eminem was HUGE. Like biggest artist in the fucking world huge lol. I grew up in that era so I expected this.Record sales just aren't what they used to be, what with downloading and all the shitty music out today, what GD pulled in is still more than most.

Eminem, Will Smith, TLC.. and green day, after everyone stopped caring about them.
amy_runs Posted May 27, 2009 Posted May 27, 2009 Well AI sold 267,000 in it's first week, but once 21 Guns and some of the other songs from the album gets some airplay, the sales will definitely peak....just think AI increased to an overall total of 1,940,828Holy cow!!!
Samantha Posted May 27, 2009 Posted May 27, 2009 Didn't Nsyncs "No Strings Attached" album sell like 11 million on the first day ?
theniall Posted May 27, 2009 Author Posted May 27, 2009 Holy cow!!!Freakin crazy right, AI done better than 21st CB..I don't get it
jess123 Posted May 27, 2009 Posted May 27, 2009 im still confused as too why they decided to release it on a friday..
Guest Shangri-La Posted May 27, 2009 Posted May 27, 2009 Didn't Nsyncs "No Strings Attached" album sell like 11 million on the first day ?lol nooo way. i think it was around 3 million or something.did you know the best selling album of the late 90's was the titanic soundtrack? and it was all for the irritating celine dion song.
IzButt Posted May 27, 2009 Posted May 27, 2009 I didn't even bother listening to new Enimem stuff. I like his older stuff but I heard from everybody I know/friends who listened to it, they either said it sounded too different from his usual stuff or they said it's crap.I still love some of his older stuff though. Hope I don't sound narrow minded.
Greenday_Aussie Posted May 27, 2009 Posted May 27, 2009 Eminems quality of work is shit these daysRIP The Eminem ShowAmen, what an awesome album.
John McClane Posted May 27, 2009 Posted May 27, 2009 aw i so miss 3rd grade. Eminem, Will Smith, TLC.. and green day, after everyone stopped caring about them.
JAS0N Posted May 27, 2009 Posted May 27, 2009 I'm amazed at how many albums Green Day and Eminem have sold with it being so easy to just get them free. People really do respect the honor system!
norcalgreendayfan Posted May 27, 2009 Posted May 27, 2009 I'm amazed at how many albums Green Day and Eminem have sold with it being so easy to just get them free. People really do respect the honor system!Loyal fans respect the honor system
LouLou Posted May 27, 2009 Posted May 27, 2009 Why do people care about how many records they sell??I think its the competition in it. It just a bit of competitive fun, like rooting for your favorite football or basketball team, you want them to do well.
Greenday_Aussie Posted May 27, 2009 Posted May 27, 2009 Loyal fans respect the honor systemDamn straight, Ive bought up to $350+ on 21st CB, and I own 4 copies of it (Regular x2 (won one), Deluxe, Special Edition)
girlaxia Posted May 27, 2009 Posted May 27, 2009 not too shabby!i myself have 3 copies (regular, deluxe and sp. ed) so i'm doing my part! lol
Ally Posted May 27, 2009 Posted May 27, 2009 i've seen albums do worse than that in there second week...maybe if eminem hadn't have released his album they would still be top!
murderotica Posted May 27, 2009 Posted May 27, 2009 20% of people download it illegally, that`s probably the reason why 21st CB sales won`t be as high as AI was.
NickD Posted May 27, 2009 Posted May 27, 2009 163,336 is better than what most people do FIRST week. There's countless occasions when the number one album of a week barely, if it even does, hit 100,000 sales. Yeah, Eminem beat them, but his album was even more anticipated. And I see Green Day taking over the best sales spot again soon, if not as early as next week. Especially with 21 Guns recently being released to the airwaves. And, with as people mentioned here, and from what many of my friends said, along with fans, Eminem's album is rather disappointing, so it shouldn't be long before they're back in the top spot.
Bastard of 1967 Posted May 27, 2009 Posted May 27, 2009 There has to be someone to blameHmmm....do we know the enemy?::G,D,&RLH!!!::so wait, is relapse being sold at walmart? It is...Emmy released a sanitized version of it to satisfy their tender eardrums.
DeJennsitized Posted May 27, 2009 Posted May 27, 2009 What the FUck!!!! There is no censoring that record! It's good the way it is and it doesn't need blurred lyrics! Green dAy Intended it to be that way and it should stay that way!Noo, not Green Day. Eminem has a censored version being sold in Walmart. Green Day don't because they didn't want their album to be censored.
