Aw, alright. At least the pages will load faster, I was trying to go through the Picture Vault yesterday and it took forever to load.

Thank god! I had to click refresh countless times yesterday.

Glad it's getting sorted out.

Is any donation money involved with this?

We have ads, but until this month, they never made enough to cover the costs of the site.

As for the chat, we'll have to see. We need to get everything back up and running, stable, etc. before we decide on new features. Chat just isn't a high priority with so many other things happening.

Alright, i've updated the first post with some information about the move to the new server. If the GDA news page shows up for you, let me know. This will vary from instantly to 24 hours based off different internet providers. But only through the news page will you be able to tell if it's changed (details in the first post of this thread).

nothing showing up, my friend.

Yeah, for me neither.

We just made the change, I don't expect it to be very widespread for at least another few hours. So, just let me know when the site does show up correctly for you.

if wer suppose to look at a white background with this info:

"Green Day fans,

GDA is currently unavailable as we upgrade our servers to handle all the new traffic coming to GDA (a good problem to have). We expect the site to be available within the next 48 hours.

Here are some Green Day sites to keep you up to date:

Our forum is still online, Green Day Community

- GDA Twitter (all the latest news will be posted there)

- GDA's Facebook (news+comments from our facebook friends)

Thanks for your patience, we'll be back soon

- GDA Staff "

then its working here

UPDATE:

Hey guys, we're in the middle of upgrading our server on GDA. We've been getting above 35,000 visitors every day for the past couple weeks, and the machine we were on just couldn't handle that kind of constant requests. I'm sure many of you have noticed the long load times on the site over the past week. So the site will be offline off and on throughout the next 2 days while we begin backing up all our files and getting everything all sorted out.

The forum sits on it's own server, and won't be affected at all by the downtime.

Edit: We've moved everything onto the new server, now we're just waiting for the domain to point to the right place. Visit the news page and see if you get a white page saying we're currently offline, or if you can see the news post about the Letterman performance (screenshot). If you still see the white page, the domain hasn't switched over for you yet. This will vary from instant for some, to up to 24 hours, it just depends on different internet providers and when they get the updated information for GDA.

It's important to visit the news page to see if the update has gone through, visiting other links (such as the Picture Vault) might be pointing to the old server. The only page we've updated to know the difference for sure is the news page.

I see GDA and I see the Letterman post. Great job! I think that went faster than you originally planned, though I've lost all track of time, so maybe it's just me :).

good, that explains why the mobile version's been loading so slow.

can't wait to see the Letterman videos, would you believe it that i watched almost all of it, and then fell asleep 5 minutes before they came on?

lol i woke up 10 minutes after it ended and i was like "OH SHIT!"

Its working for me.

btw, I loved the Letterman video of EJN.
