My dad likes him, that's when I was introduced to his stuff, back when we had channels that still played music videos.(haha that sounded old  )

I usually don't like Eminem, but that single he put out "We Made You" or something like that, was so catchy and the music video for it is hilarious!

I suggest all of you watch it if you're in the mood for a good laugh.

The opening where he's standing on the GH thing about made me sick

But yeah it's a good song/video.

There are some other songs I'll listen to from him, but I generally don't care too much for rap.

Yeah he did say he didn't like Eminem in a 2002 interview, he disagreed with his apparant sexist/homophobic lyrics and said he'd be concerned if his children wanted to listen to him.

But from about 2004 onwards he's said he admires Eminem's work a few times, and that the band listened to him while making American Idiot. So looks like his opinion changed.

Maybe he just hadn't really listened to Eminem much before, I think it was kind of trendy to be against Eminem's lyrics in 2002 :D

Or maybe his kids were still young enough that he was more protective of them and more concerned about what influenced them. As kids get older, parents hopefully find out that they can discuss issues that might be of concern and make sure the kids can hear/see potentially harmful content and understand that it's not a good life example :). BTW, I'm not opining on Eminem's stuff here, I'm just speaking about things in general that kids get exposed to (no matter how we as parents try to protect them).

What. Thought Billie Joe disliked Eminem. Okay then XD

Oh yeah I'm sure you're right about that, I mean I think most people wouldn't want young children listening to Eminem. He wasn't only talking in regard to his children though, he was also saying he personally didn't like him. But he did add that he didn't really listen to rap. So from his recent comments I assume he must listen to rap more than he used to (even if he only listens to a small amount), and have more time for Eminem if he 'admires' him.

That makes sense. I know he listens to and appreciates LOTS of different kinds of music. Some of his influences are rather surprising :).

I miss the old Eminen, back when he was good.

This news does surprise me. I never thought that Billie Joe admired Eminem.

I ain't a fan of hiphop/rap. It's not my favorite kinda music. But I still listen to some of that.

But I don't like Eminem's voice when he's rapping. It like beating at my head. And the lyrics is not very special. I mean I don't enjoy his works :ermm:

Wow,now I feel relieved  I liked Eminem back when I was about 7 because my brother listened to rap and hip hop so I also did it  But now I just don't have an opinion on his music because I don't like him anymore and I don't listen to him anymore.

Interesting...

Billie looks from a different angle which makes sense, I get what he means. Thanks for posting.
