No...please say it isn't so! Once they start winning awards, I think people will take notice. That's what happened with AI. Plus their shows are almost all sold out! Not many bands can do that in this economy.

Id rather have GD outta the spotlight, it was nice in 04/05, but GD would be better off without the god damn teenies.

Thank you cos the old grey matter was getting rather confuddled there and it's bad enough remembering my name at times

I don't mind the teenies, sometimes I act like one, after all, I'm 18.

If it means I get to see my favorite band on TV all the time, I'm happy...also, I love watching them win awards, because they deserve them!

The single release should boost it to the top of the charts...hopefully! *goes and crosses fingers and toes*

KYE is on the radio quite often, but to be honest I don't know its chart position.

The sad truth is that this album will probably fall into the same line of success that Insomniac and Nimrod did. Not as extremely underated as Warning, but not really on the level of Dookie and American Idiot.

The reason for that is the album is a bit too lyrically complex. A fan who is not as hardcore into Green Day as some of us here, or who just liked AI and picked up the follow up to that album, may find themselves puzzled as to what Billie's trying to say.

AI also had quite a few more catchy songs. As annoying as it may be, AI (the song) and Holiday had a catchy riff, while Boulevard of Broken Dreams and Wake Me Up When September Ends appealed to the teeny bopper audience, with the lyrics to those songs not being that lyrically difficult to understand.

All of you, well, a lot of you, were bitching that Know Your Enemy was the worst song on the album, and 21 Guns would be the new Blvd. But KYE topped both Billboard Rock charts, while 21 Guns, which has been on the chart for quite a few weeks now, just cracked the top five in the modern rock charts this past week, and hasn't even cracked the top 20 on the Mainstream rock charts. The video's out as well, so what's the problem? The problem is that 21 Guns sounds way too similar to Boulevard of Broken Dreams. It sounds as if they were really trying to put something out there that could match the success of Blvd., and they really just kind of cloned the song with different lyrics. Sorry, but the fact that all of you are going ape just cause Billie sings "Guns" in a "sexy" falsetto, and ripping off the Full House theme song for a guitar solo doesn't scream "Grammy award winning song" to me. In my opinion, it's one of the least interesting songs on the album. Always has been.

I think, and have a good feeling that they're going to release East Jesus Nowhere as the next single. It's a unique Green Day song, and it's strong and catchy guitar sound will really appeal to male audiences. After that, they probably should release "Last Night On Earth", which screams a radio hit, and the theme song to many proms next year.

And for the record, I personally believe that 21cb is much, much, much, much, better than American Idiot, and my second favorite album next to Warning. It's just a shame that the album has to suffer this much of an underappreciation.

(Sorry for any spelling or grammar errors, I'm in a huge rush)

I'm a female and the catchy guitar in EJN appeals to me! I have to say for me personally Last Night on Earth is my least fav track off the album, and I couldn't imagine it doing brillant as a single!

well I believe this album has lots of things to say in grammy awards.21 guns is a really beautiful song but the problem is the cut version of the video I guess and they don't show it alot on TV now.the uncut version must be shown a lot of times for the people to get interested in it.and another point is this that some of the people that I know them and they never liked AI found 21CB so beautiful.some people like my parents.I'm still optimistic about that.I believe if they chose the right songs as singles it will be a ground breaking.I believe this album must have at least 6 singles including EJN, last night on earth, viva la gloria or restless heart, and 21 century breakdown.

^I highly doubt Last Night on Earth will be a Single. And I don't hope it either. Replace it with The Static Age :)

static age is good too. but I guess before the lobotomy has more chance to be a single

21 GUns is #40 in the UK top 40 this week.

I think it would do a hell of a lot better if it actually got some radio play. I think I heard Zane Lowe play it once.

I agree with what you wrote, particularly about 21 Guns. I actually don't like the song after the video, for some reason the video killed the song for me, unfortunately. I do think that EJN when released will top the charts longer than 21 Guns. And 21CBD is a complex album, I'm just not sure, like you, how much wide appeal its going to have to new fans. And I agree with Greenday_Aussie about the teenies, too. haha...
