jetsrule128 Posted May 24, 2009 Author Posted May 24, 2009 Jeff is very much in the background during the live performances, even is placed physically behind large amps onstage. I'm sure he adds some needed guitar and backing vocals to the 21st Century songs. You actually don't even notice him unless you are looking for him. but he is most likely having the time of his life
SOMERTEN Posted May 24, 2009 Posted May 24, 2009 found out he has been in 2 bandsMagic Cropdusters and Ashtray Babyhead anyone ever listen to them?Christ band names are getting shittier and shittier....
Sharmellow Posted May 24, 2009 Posted May 24, 2009 Christ band names are getting shittier and shittier....I agree. :/Anyway, I think he's a cool guy.
Hermione Posted May 24, 2009 Posted May 24, 2009 Lol! I would say Ashtray Babyhead is a legendary name

I noticed him a few times at Webster - because of my position, I could see him a lot better than at the Bowery show. I think he looks like a good performer - he's got some good moves and puts a lot of energy into his performance. He's cute, too. I think he'll fit in well, and maybe will be seen more when they're on bigger stages.
Robin105 Posted May 25, 2009 Posted May 25, 2009 I think he's useless. He just stands there. Looking bored as anything. And you can't even see him
Fuzz Posted May 25, 2009 Posted May 25, 2009 I think he's useless. He just stands there. Looking bored as anything. And you can't even see himWhat a wonderfully stupid thing to say.
**nobodylikesyou** Posted May 25, 2009 Posted May 25, 2009 I think he's useless. He just stands there. Looking bored as anything. And you can't even see himmaybe when you go to their concert and they sound exactly like they do on their album you will notice how useful he is....seriously do you think they would have hired him if they didnt think he improved their sound???

I did catch Jason White's butt wiggle, did you see that?
Trina Posted May 25, 2009 Posted May 25, 2009 I think he's useless. He just stands there. Looking bored as anything. And you can't even see himWtf...hahaHow is he useless? and it's not really about seeing him either...
J'net Posted May 25, 2009 Posted May 25, 2009 ... I did catch Jason White's butt wiggle, did you see that? No! I paid attention to the Jason's and Jeff now and then, too, but I missed that .
Tripe Posted May 25, 2009 Posted May 25, 2009 No! I paid attention to the Jason's and Jeff now and then, too, but I missed that .It was very brief. I couldn't even tell you what song they were playing, but he turned around and actually shook his ass for about 3-5 seconds! It was kind of out of character, I was shocked for a minute! Then I laughed out loud.
Foxboron Posted May 25, 2009 Posted May 25, 2009 I think he's useless. He just stands there. Looking bored as anything. And you can't even see himhes backing vocal... and 3th guitar.who do you belive gonna play 2nd guitar when billie doent =.=?and gonna help him reach the high note on "21 guns"?
Sharmellow Posted May 25, 2009 Posted May 25, 2009 I think he's useless. He just stands there. Looking bored as anything. And you can't even see him He doesn't just stand there looking bored. He's a backup vocalist and plays 3rd guitar. And you can't see him because he's in the back with Jason Freese or whatever. He might be shy.

As a matter of fact, Jeff Matika already seemed more outgoing than Jason W when I was watching him.
son Posted May 26, 2009 Posted May 26, 2009 hes backing vocal... and 3th guitar.lol thirthduring the webster hall show he was sitting down alot talking to tre. i felt bad so i waved at him lol. and sent him a message on facebook
Shadynasty Posted August 1, 2012 Posted August 1, 2012 I know Jeff Matika as we are from the same hometown (Little Rock). He lived with me for a while when he was getting started in local bands. Great guy and very intelligent....NOT shy at all...very outspoken and obviously a great guitar player. I knew him when he was in his first band, Pseudo Hippie, which then morphed into Ashtray Babyhead (as a joke) but then everyone loved their music, and they were stuck with the name. He's originally from Texarkana, TX.
InvaderPhantom Posted August 1, 2012 Posted August 1, 2012 Soooo, now that you've dug out a three year old thread, I can ask a question that has been on my mind lately: Do you guys think Jeff will be a touring member again on the Uno Dos Tré Tour? I'm not that sure since Ronnie Blake for example was also replaced after the American Idiot tour. At one part in Oh Love, there are three guitars playing at the same time so they'll definitely need a third guitar player. Also, they will definitely play songs like 21 Guns, WMUWSE, 21st Century Breakdown, BOBD, St. Jimmy... which all need three guitars. I hope Jeff returns. He seems so nice! And I liked how he danced during Shout at the Mainz concert in 2010. Also, I have him on Facebook
