belindatest Posted May 18, 2009 Posted May 18, 2009 .. Though, it kinda surprised me they chose Letterbomb and She's a Rebel. Those aren't that well known outside the group of people who know the whole album Yeah, but I count both of those songs as better than American Idiot, Holiday, and Wake Me Up When September Ends. Just because they haven't been publicized, doesn't mean that they're not legitimate, entertaining songs. You never know, Green Day might gain a few serious fans because they hear Letterbomb, She's a Rebel or Whatsername...Wait... I thought that the Green Day songs would never be included in a music game because they were only three chords, or something. Don't ask me for an in-depth explanation, though. I'm only a drummer.
Samantha Posted May 18, 2009 Posted May 18, 2009 I've said this before, probably in like the tech part of the forumBut from a musicians perspective Rock Band sucks cause the strumming is right on top of the note, making it hard to play on beat, rather than someone who is just playing as they see the colorsGuitar Hero does not do this, making it superior
TheMinority16 Posted May 18, 2009 Posted May 18, 2009 RB2's wii is like $2 a download . o well, still awesome though. I'm pretty confident Green Day will show up on DLC soon.
stxrlesseyes Posted May 18, 2009 Posted May 18, 2009 dude, warner would never allow that.it be be available for a little while, but sooner or later they'll pull out the banhammer lawsuit on Rockband untill they pull the songs off the program. Why would they pull out a lawsuit when Rock Band must acquire the licensing from them?
Rezurgam Posted May 18, 2009 Posted May 18, 2009 Rock Band would be a smarter choice over Guitar Hero, because I think RB is more commercially successful that GH, because a lot more people play RB.
stxrlesseyes Posted May 18, 2009 Posted May 18, 2009 wish they'd put it on regular rockband....then i'd get it for marisa so i could make us play it. totally, i'd be the drummer The DLC is cross compatible meaning it will work in RB1 and RB2
GGreenDDay Posted May 18, 2009 Posted May 18, 2009 Yayyy Why do people hate guitar hero and rock band etc so much?? everyone can´t play for real!
Jack96 Posted May 18, 2009 Posted May 18, 2009 I just looked at the normal setlist for this game and it shows another reason why i really dont like Rock Band.
John McClane Posted May 18, 2009 Posted May 18, 2009 This is so exciting, I've been waiting for Green Day songs on Rockband/Guitar Hero for a long time now! I don't get the hate for these games either, they are just for fun and fun to play with friends. As for which game is better, well as an owner of both games (don't laugh), I can tell you they both have pros and cons. I used to like Guitar Hero better but since owning RB I have been leaning in its favour now. But really, it depends on what you want in a game. Guitar Hero is harder and more challenging so if that's what you like then you'll enjoy GH better. IMO RB is more fun to play with a group of people, song selection is better and the amount of downloadable content is far superior. As far as the equipment, GH guitars are superior to RB's piece of shit guitars and while I enjoy features of both drumsets, I'd call tem roughly equal to each other. In the end, they are both fun games and rocking out to GD on them would be the shizzne.
Captain Pasalacqua Posted May 18, 2009 Posted May 18, 2009 I'd kill to play Babs or anything from Kerplunk.
novacaine_kid Posted May 18, 2009 Posted May 18, 2009 Thats an insane track listing! i'd be pretty stoked if this came out on xbox live or something as a download.
Amanaman Posted May 18, 2009 Posted May 18, 2009 That's awesome. Wish it was Guitar Hero though :/I share your sentiments.
deathtofalsesushi Posted May 18, 2009 Posted May 18, 2009 The best part about bands' songs being included in Rock Band, is when people rip them and upload them and you can listen to the individual instrumental tracks.
josh_oliday Posted May 18, 2009 Posted May 18, 2009 Yea I don't understand the idea that this is never going to happen? It's licensing. MTV bought the rights to use these song in their game. Warner likes money. A generous enough offer would probably get even the most stuck-up executive to change his mind. I mean Warner's not against Rock Band or Guitar Hero. When GH first did downloadable content for GHII on Xbox360, My Chemical Romance (another Reprise band) had a bunch of songs from The Black Parade for download. I knew it would only be a matter of time until Green Day had some songs on one of the games, it was just a question of which one...Congrats MTV, you win one over Activision this time (for the record, I do prefer GH, I just like the style more than Rock Band). Guess I'm getting a version of Rock Band though. Also, if anyone's curious how these will play, check youtube. Ever since GHII (and maybe even GHI) when people figured out how to hack into the song system, they have put all sorts of Green Day songs on it (this is illegal lol). Anyway, they have everything from Longview, to Time of Your Life, to Brain Stew, to Whatsername. Spoiler Alert: The rendition of Jesus of Suburbia is just fucking badass.
Anko Posted May 18, 2009 Posted May 18, 2009 That's awsome but there's a Rock Band for the PSP? How the hell does that work?
