What is with so many songs on 21CBD sounding like other Green Day songs?

Well the reason i think that in American Eulogy(fucking lies) why it sounds like Christians inferno (like a flood) is totally intentional. The band is trying to connect many of the songs and keep all the songs connected. Such as 21CB opening riff and the one in see the light. a good way to connect the songs

I can kind of see similarities between Heart of Gold and 21 Guns. Heart of Gold also shares these similarities with thousands of other songs.

¿Viva La Gloria? sounds like a combination of both Misery and Blood, Sex and Booze.

But I don't mind. They have so many songs that a few of their songs are bound to sound the similar.

yeah i dont really hear the heart of gold similarity anywhere on the album

and as for all the young dudes, that has to be one of my favorite songs of all time, and i don't think guns sounds like it at all.

seriously though, its impossible to come up with vocal patterns and chord progressions that haven't been used before, it just cant be done.

I noticed certain songs remind me of songs from "warning". but its ok, I don't mind. Peacemaker reminds me of dead beat holiday, and Mass Hysteria reminds me of ...oh I don't know..it's one of those songs on warning.

The intro drums on Murder City remind me of the Intro drums to a Nirvana song. Cant think of which song it is now, it might be "Breed" on Nevermind

The druming in the song 21st century Breakdown at the transition from the first part in to the celtic punk part is very like longview. This was more noticable on the 21stCB demo

I also noticed that!! (Not hard to notice, but still )

I really like the recurring theme of this concept album, the whole song of the century thing (Song of the Century, American Eulogy) the two chords (21st Century Breakdown, See the Light), there were a few more.

I noticed all of this too, as well as the one that reminded me of a Network song! But I actually enjoy it, think of it as little homage's to GD's past, I dunno. I'd like to think they did it on purpose as well, but it wouldn't bother me if they didn't.
