KCoyote Posted September 20, 2009 Posted September 20, 2009 Agree (but I still love the performance). I get chills when he hits the high notes in the last "21 Guns" and "iiinside". Love it.Me too! That's my favorite part.
misslyssx Posted September 20, 2009 Posted September 20, 2009 I love hearing this live when he actually sings "21 Guns" instead of letting the crowd do it cuz that's my favorite part
Jimmy Strummer Posted September 20, 2009 Posted September 20, 2009 I'm watching the episode as a rerun as I type, and I gotta say, 21 Guns could've been way better. It was just missing that Green Day Oomph! That song usually has a punch to it, but I guess it's the way that the SNL crew mixed the sound that made it a little bit emptier. I say more distorted guitar in the chorus, bridge, and solo; more of Jason W's clean guitar and less of Jason F's piano in the verses; Billie could've been more "on" as a whole; and the backing vocals could've been fuller and better mixed. That's just my input.

They always suck with their sound mixing (and there was that awful dropped mic problem for the past two seasons).
