I just want to say that this is a really great idea and I will totally contribute.

Somebody started one of these for my other favorite band, The Rocket Summer and loadddds of people contributed to it including me.

I was at the show that the girl who started it gave it to him at and he was literally brought to tears.

Although I'm not sure how easy it will be to get it to them and if anybody will actually get to watch them go through it but I guarentee they'll love it!

Wow...I think that maybe if we get enough people involved in this that this could actually become a book!

I'm really loving this idea and I think it would be cool for it to be an actual book.

I think that Green Day would like to read about tons of their fans, almost like a "fan biography" sort of thing, so that each fan could have their own page in it. =D lol

Just woke up and there has been a decent responce in less than 12 hours.

So i would say roughly about 30 people had said they are interested in helping out.

so at this stage for those who are interested in helping out just write about the following things.

1- How you discovered Green Day

2- Your favourite Green Day Moment

3- What they mean to you.

4- Photographs of yourself and green day... maybe even some fan art.

no real word limit at this stage as Im just generating interest.

you dont have to rush it either, some people said they are gonna take a week to do their little peice , thats fine.

and ill see where we go from here.

also still looking for somebody with good photoshop skills.

editing etc.

also what do you guys think of the price of this, if it was turned into a book.

i was thinking of making it as cheap as possible so it covers the printing costs etc.

or either finding out the cost of the printing and paying for it myself. and then just charging for postage to the location where the book would be sent. and all profit could be donated to green day +nrdc.

just a idea at this stage since its still very early days.

I wouldn't mind contributing but my story would probably be pretty boring. For example, " I got into them because I heard one of their songs on the radio and I wanted to find out more about them." Blah,blah,blah. It would just be the same old thing, even though Green Day do mean the world to me I don't want to be looked like one of those fans that don't really care about the music. Why would I be listening to them 5 years since I've heard of them?

Where would we have to ship fan art to (I don't have a scanner) ?

I was involved in something like this for another forum, and it was seen by that person and we got a pretty good reply.

Maybe if it was big enough, Green Day could be informed...I'm sure they'd appreciate it and we could get an awesome collective response, as it would be different to fanmail if it was a book put together by lots of fans.
