Drink Drank Punk Posted May 15, 2009 Posted May 15, 2009 I do think that is weird. I would never want to pay more then they asked for. Most of the money from cd sales goes to the label. If you wanted to support them I'd suggest seeing them live and buying a t shirt or something.
Guest Hayley Posted May 15, 2009 Posted May 15, 2009 You can buy the limited edition if you wanna pay more.
Sharmellow Posted May 15, 2009 Posted May 15, 2009 Buy another CD, it'll help them and keep your conscience clean.
Elis_x Posted May 15, 2009 Posted May 15, 2009 music's not supposed to be expensive. how do you think green day got their start? selling old vinyls by hand for a few dollars or having their record in a local shop for no more than 5 bucks. thats how it should be. 10 dollars is a good price for a CD here in the US. 20 is ridiculous. i do enjoy the fact that i am actually BUYING the PHYSICAL ALBUM from the band, and they do deserve my money for making such an amazing record..but music aint about money.in Slovakia.. if I calculate it into dollas, one CD costs 35-40 dollars.. THAT's ridiculous.. and they're wondering why people don't want to buy CD's.
Farah Posted May 15, 2009 Posted May 15, 2009 wow.. if u like to pay alot for a green day cd then come to italy.. or more specifically to sardinia, i saw all the green day cd's for like 13-14 euros o_O and american idiot for like 21€man, they only costed like 5-6 euros at spain, and 10-12 for american idiot, cause it was newer i guess?Give it a couple of weeks and the CD will be more like £15. CDs are always cheaper the first couple of weeks.really?aah, i didnt know that!then i think i might be buying it really soon since prices are so high over here.. (shops where i'm living now are really far away from me though/:)
Haushinkaholic Posted May 15, 2009 Author Posted May 15, 2009 To be honest there's been some really salient points made here..I no longer feel like I should be paying more, but I don't feel bad for feeling that way originally. What someone said about people being able to afford the CD is true, that kinda swung me.I'm not rich by any means, I work hard for the cash I have, and to be honest tend to spend it all too quickly on lot's of stupid shit.
