belinda jane Posted May 15, 2009 Posted May 15, 2009 i've just bought the normal one today, but i ordered the special edition one (with the book) so that should be coming in the mail shortly.

TheBullwinkle Posted May 15, 2009 Posted May 15, 2009 I have too many damn digital copies of this album now; just got the download from Warner.
Jack96 Posted May 15, 2009 Posted May 15, 2009 Ive just got the normal one off Itunes i think ill go buy the physical CD soon or get my dad to get it from the city
saurus Posted May 15, 2009 Posted May 15, 2009 The standard release, I couldn't bring myself to spend more than double on the special edition.
beat the sYstem Posted May 15, 2009 Posted May 15, 2009 well, i just ventured into town on my day off to go to work and buy 21st century breakdown (i work in a HMV). i ordered myself teh limited edition. im disappointed. no bonus tracks. nothing extra in the booklet. its being sold for over twice the price as the standard cd and for what? a cd case that wont fit on my shelf with my other cds? heroes and cons indeed!nevermind. ive bought it now.this better sound better than it did when i listened to it earlier in the week at work..
Astrid. Posted May 15, 2009 Posted May 15, 2009 Normal version. Hadn't enough money with my for the special edition
TomDB Posted May 15, 2009 Author Posted May 15, 2009 Completed my 21CB journey, bought me Standard Edition from ASDA for only £7 ! Then they didn't have the Special Edition with the 52 page booklet so went into Reading town centre and bought it, rip off at £21.99 really
Blond-O-Sonic Shimmer Trap Posted May 15, 2009 Posted May 15, 2009 I went into Avalanche Records and they didnt have it among the rest of the stuff so I went to HMV and they had the standard edition for £9.99 and the Booklet edition for £22! It seems to be like paying twice for the same album for the sake of a few pictures, so I searched around to see if anywhere else had like one of those digibook versions of it. But there's only yet another HMV in Glasgow City Centre that I know of. I went back to Avalanche and they had the standard edition for £12 and the booklet one for £20. I just bought the standard edition since I basically only went in to get the CD, but I was looking for the Deluxe Edition that doesnt cost twice as much.
Velocity Posted May 15, 2009 Posted May 15, 2009 I got the Target special edition about an hour an a half ago. I'm going out again later to get the Best Buy edition with the book.
Bexie. Posted May 15, 2009 Posted May 15, 2009 i bought the standard, coz im too poor to buy the spec edit.. but im blasting it out of the stereo at we speak... ahhh it feels sooo goood!!
TheMinority Posted May 15, 2009 Posted May 15, 2009 A standard... I have 3 versions of American Idiot and now I feel like it's not worth having three copies of the same album again... but maybe I'll get the special edition later on
Starbug Posted May 15, 2009 Posted May 15, 2009 I got the Target special edition about an hour an a half ago. I'm going out again later to get the Best Buy edition with the book. What were the bonus tracks? I'm trying to google it, so I'll probably know by the time someone responds lol If no one does, I'll post them too... if I find out.
anon29 Posted May 15, 2009 Posted May 15, 2009 I bought the Target one (it's the only one I'm buying). I was there about fifteen minutes after they opened and they only had two on the shelves (of the limited edition with bonus tracks), so I'm not sure how many they actually have. It might be reeeeeeeeeeeally limited.Bonus tracks are from 2005 Toyko, Japan show:American IdiotJesus of SuburbiaHolidayAre we the WaitingSt. JimmyBlvd of Broken DreamsAlso the lyrics are not censored, for anyone wanting to know.
