amy_runs Posted May 15, 2009 Posted May 15, 2009 Aw :/ I hope it grows on you...I love it. Its my favorite out of the 4 covers..But yeah, if it is one of your favorite songs - its probably quite hard to get used to a different version.I was like woah, when I heard they were going to record it...i thought it could turn out a little...hmmm I don't know how to put it but anyways yeah, thankfully I love it.Yeah, it's better the second time Thank goodness! I love how they did they "Forgiven" part when Billie is screaming forgivenforgivenforgiven!
Peel Slowly And See Posted May 15, 2009 Posted May 15, 2009 so did they actually release these covers nowi might be inclined to ask you to pm me a link

Greenforaday101 Posted May 15, 2009 Posted May 15, 2009 Take it from someone who owns every Dylan record, and thinks the man is god himself, Green Day did a damn good job with Like A Rolling Stone. It's one of the best Dylan covers I've heard. And that isn't me being a green day fan or anything, because I am a My Chem fan, and I think their cover of Desperation Row is the worst thing ever recorded in all of human history.

That was the first time I was ashamed to be a my chem fan.. I first heard it in Watchmen and that totally ruined that movie. So when we compare Green Day and My Chem, I'm 100% sure that GD did an awesome job.

Hermione Posted May 16, 2009 Posted May 16, 2009 Just listened to all the covers and I'm really enjoying all of them . It's so strange to hear them doing A Quick One, like nothing else I've ever heard them do, and I like it. The same goes for That's Alright Mama, an inspired choice! Love the vocals on it. I'd never heard the Social Distortion song before but it sounds good to me.They always treat songs with such respect when they cover them, they don't go out of their way to change the original too much just for the sake of it, and neither do they simply copy the original. They seem to have a knack for getting the balance right and putting their stamp on it in just the right way. My favourite of these is Like A Rolling Stone, they've done just that.
