I honestly hope they didn't want to do it. The photographer couldn't have come up with anything better?

Photographers don't decide what they shoot, they just take the photos, hence the name photographer.

The photographer most definitely does decide what they shoot, thats what makes the difference between good photographers and bad ones. You don't honestly think GD just showed up to the photo shoot dressed like old time soldiers do you? For a Rolling Stone cover shoot I would imagine they sent one of their best photographers and this was his idea for the cover and I personally think it looks awesome.

Did anyone scan the article? Do you guys want a scan?

Funny how everyone on GDA mocked me for saying that the song '21 Century Breakdown' reminded me of Meatloaf's 'bat Out of Hell.' Meanwhile in the new RS Billie Joe ADMITS that record as an inspiration. Thank you very much. :)

I fucking hate Meatloaf with a passion. I even left a wedding I was maid of honor at because they played that pile of shit "Paradise by the Dashboard Lights". He's a fucking joke.

BTW, the photographer is Sam Jones.

The magazine, I think you will find, will have had someone, if not a whole team of people, theorising and researching into how the photos would look from the placement of the band in the shot, to what theme the photos would have. This would then be passed onto a stylist who would have adapted the idea and theme and translated it into a 'costume' for them to wear. This then would go back to the team and the finishing touches would have been made. A meeting would then have taken place with the photographer, letting them know what the magazine wanted. He/she would continue to then shoot the band, deciding on where he wants to put the camera and what shots he would use. He would even have someone checking the lighting for him/her.

So don't give me 'The photographer most definitely does decide what they shoot' cos you obviously have no idea.

Thanks for the scans. I can´t wait to have the magazine in my hands

There´s an interview in another german magazine. I don´t think it´s worth a new thread (especially since we already get tons of new threads every day) so I will just post it here.

I didn´t buy it due to money but I was able to took photographs of two of the interview pages (the other two pages were just a picture). Page 1, Page 2

It´s in german though.

I pretty much had a heart attack when that picture showed up on the Rolling Stone site.

ahahaha that is great! I've hated that song and the album for that matter my whole life. I'm freakin old enough to remember it getting played into the ground as a kid. It's truely over the top dramatic like a tweenie girl.

I like the picture whether it be considered patriotic (maybe) or revolutionary (more likely). Billies expression is priceless. I'm headed to buy dinner and stop at the book store to buy this.

Thanks for the scans.

The article is a really awesome read, love it.

Just too bad that page 3 is so blurry on the right side, I can't make out the words.

Would it by all means be possible to try and scan that page again? ( Yeah, I know, I might be asking too much) Please??

How did you get the magazine?

Doesn't it come out until May 28?

They had it at my local record store when I went to ask about the lithograph that's supposed to come with 21st Century Breakdown. I bought it there, but I also noticed they had it at Giant grocery store when I went in there right after (both the record store and Giant are in the same "mall").

Thanks for the scans.
