Jillie Boe. Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 I think Green Day have always made it abundantly clear they don't consider themselves spokesmen for anyone or anything but themselves. What exactly was it that "they used to rail against", that they've become now? I don't remember them "railing against" anything much.Do we have to have a debate about it?
Marc C. Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 Oh well, can't please everyone. The people who love it will love it.The people who hate it will be assholes and try to spread their opinion like the swine flu.As long as we all wash our hands and ignore these people, we won't catch their stupid.
rootbeersoup Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 Even I think they failedThis album is goodRack it.
Peel Slowly And See Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 I think Green Day have always made it abundantly clear they don't consider themselves spokesmen for anyone or anything but themselves.Of course not. They don't want to make the same self-glorifying statements that Oasis, The Killers, or U2 have made. What exactly was it that "they used to rail against", that they've become now? I don't remember them "railing against" anything much. They didn't rail against jack shit. Dookie was a love letter to apathy, so I have no idea what these people are talking about. They're mistaking Green Day for a first-wave punk rock band.
Jessayy Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 Oh well, can't please everyone. The people who love it will love it.The people who hate it will be assholes and try to spread their opinion like the swine flu.As long as we all wash our hands and ignore these people, we won't catch their stupid.i like the way you think
14razorbacks Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 When I want to read an article stroking the Arctic Monkeys with five year old sentence structure, I'll buy NME.Until then...
norcalgreendayfan Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 I always found reviewers in general to be mostly made up of bloody idiots who usually have no idea what they are talking about
Peel Slowly And See Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 Really, people? No one has made the "Know your NME" joke? I'm disappointed.
chickin'pickin' Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 When I want to read an article stroking the Arctic Monkeys with five year old sentence structure, I'll buy NME.The NME actually covers really good bands. Arctic Monkeys being one of them. Oasis not so much. it's just that the writers are a bunch of cockbrains.
14razorbacks Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 Kerrang is also a toilet paper substitute.Amen - I got the latest one 'cos they had GD on the front and didn't like it. Even the cover was ridiculous; it looks like a myspace picture, aha.
Jessayy Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 Really, people? No one has made the "Know your NME" joke? I'm disappointed.HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
norcalgreendayfan Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 Really, people? No one has made the "Know your NME" joke? I'm disappointed.Guess we were all up in arms about the bad review that it didnt dawn on us but thats a good one HAHAHAAHAH
rage-love-life Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 Really, people? No one has made the "Know your NME" joke? I'm disappointed.Haha, good one. Anyway, from what I heard of the album, I liked it and enjoyed that they took a different path than what everyone thought they would. But opinions change that. Does this guy know how to review an album without bashing other people? It's a bit harsh.
01casey Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 NME gave it a positive 8/10 the other week, this is just a blog of an individual who didn't review it.
rage-love-life Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 NME gave it a positive 8/10 the other week, this is just a blog of an individual who didn't review it.Really? Hmm, no wonder it sounded like the guy hated it so much, he probably didn't even give it a chance to sink in on him.
norcalgreendayfan Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 With friends like these, who need NME's.hahaha. :/hah another good one keep your friends close, keep your NME's closer
01casey Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 Really? Hmm, no wonder it sounded like the guy hated it so much, he probably didn't even give it a chance to sink in on him.Yeah I'll scan it up some time, a good review.
chickin'pickin' Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 Sorry to spoil your fun guys, but we really need to eliminate the NME now.
Hermione Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 Do we have to have a debate about it? Kinda thought that was the point of these threads, but whatever.
Jillie Boe. Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 Kinda thought that was the point of these threads, but whatever. It is, but I can't be arsed.
Chad is Rad Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 This review pissed me the fuck off. They obviously have no idea what their talking about...they are making bold statements with their music, their just too blind to see it.Douchebags.
sroy Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 Yeah I'll scan it up some time, a good review.http://www.nme.com/images/218_magspread_album_L50509.jpg posted it on the first page . no one noticed
