davegrohllover Posted December 16, 2009 Posted December 16, 2009 I love all of Billie's Guitars. But Blue is my favorite. Thats really cool he was using it.
Doug Posted December 16, 2009 Posted December 16, 2009 a lot of you may disagree but i'm sure almost none of you have ever seen a replica of blue. There are so few pictures of copies. and wouldn't you spend the money to repair your first guitar if you were that famous for it? He's admitted that replicas have never felt right.
Eirik Posted December 16, 2009 Posted December 16, 2009 ^I really don't think Billie cares if the guitar is famous or not...
NickD Posted December 17, 2009 Posted December 17, 2009 a lot of you may disagree but i'm sure almost none of you have ever seen a replica of blue. There are so few pictures of copies. and wouldn't you spend the money to repair your first guitar if you were that famous for it? He's admitted that replicas have never felt right.exactly. he mostly only used the replicas during the Nimrod tour and beginning of Warning tour, but that's about it. He's had a few others used here and there since then, BUT not often. From pre-Sweet Children through 1996 he only used Blue. From 1997-early/mid-2000 He would use replicas to try and preserve he beloved guitar. From late 2000-present he's back to using Blue primarily for songs that need it.
Opezi Posted December 21, 2009 Posted December 21, 2009 I know that. I'm saying for songs like Basket Case, he can just play them normal tuning and just one fret lower. He's not playing any open chords so it won't change anything.um ok he is playing open chords in basket case... E A
Liam Posted December 21, 2009 Posted December 21, 2009 when he came to brisbane he didnt use blue for 21st century breakdown on both nights. he only really uses it now when he does old songs
Opezi Posted December 26, 2009 Posted December 26, 2009 ok. Billie does not use blue anymore. it is far too precious and valuable to him. he is keeping it safe in his studio now. and his son does not have it.
Peace and Rainbows Posted December 26, 2009 Posted December 26, 2009 ^I really don't think Billie cares if the guitar is famous or not...That's right. It's his guitar and he can play it if he wantsBesides, i think they all sound great
Guest Posted December 26, 2009 Posted December 26, 2009 that's the original. you can tell it's been re-fretted. none of the copies of blue had all the same stickers. the eight ball sticker is usually a good way to tell the original. also the pick guard is really yellow but between his neck and middle pickup is a white area where he had a sticker originally.AHH i see noww..
Liam Posted December 26, 2009 Posted December 26, 2009 has any one ever seen Blue look like this before
Astrid. Posted December 26, 2009 Posted December 26, 2009 HmmCan anyone tell if this pic is a replica or the original ?http://www.page2live.com/wp-content/upload...a_080409_01.jpgto me i think its a replica because the tuning head is more cleaner and sharper than the orignal blueThat's the one he used for a few songs in Rotterdam, but I really don't know if it's the real oneFor what I can remember, he played Before The Lobotomy, Welcome To Paradise, Brain Stew, When I Come Around This is a pic from BTL
Atcs64 Posted December 27, 2009 Posted December 27, 2009 Here is a closeup from a pretty recent show..
Isabel Posted December 27, 2009 Posted December 27, 2009 I wonder what's more exciting. Getting to stand beside Billie Joe or getting to stand beside Blue? :whistling:
Mar Posted December 27, 2009 Posted December 27, 2009 Here is a closeup from a pretty recent show.. I don't know for sure, but I can't help but think that looks TOO worn to be a replica. I understand replicating it to an extent, but with all those chips and damage? Or, if it's real damage, wouldn't it mean it's time for another? I don't really care, and I don't claim to know one way or another. But I love Blue's shade of blue...my favorite color
tomconrad123 Posted December 27, 2009 Posted December 27, 2009 He's deffo using the original blue now, u can tell by the stickers if u look close u can see older ones, also on sum show called access hollwood he showed the interviewer the guitar sayin he had had the guitar since he was 10, u can see in this picture billie with the real one and replica in background http://www.greendayauthority.com/Picture_V...e.php?pos=-1629

Boston Posted December 28, 2009 Posted December 28, 2009 He uses it on 21st Century Breakdown and Before the Lobotomy, because those two are in Eb tuning (half step down). I always think that its weird when he uses it to play those two songs, because Blue symbolizes Dookie and Insomniac to me.
Liam Posted January 11, 2010 Posted January 11, 2010 can some one tell me what colour blue it is. ive heard its Daphne blue and ive also heard its sonic blue so i dont know which one it is
Deathwish. Posted January 12, 2010 Posted January 12, 2010 That's pretty cool that he is using it. Different style, a bit of a different tune. Something new but old.
Liam Posted January 13, 2010 Posted January 13, 2010 so does any one know if its daphne blue or sonic blue
P3AC3MAK3R Posted January 16, 2010 Posted January 16, 2010 I love seeing Billie use his guitar its sooo cute
NickD Posted January 17, 2010 Posted January 17, 2010 the pic i found was a replica the Muffs sticker is missingi Think?you can still see where the sticker WAS though. stickers fall off and he's changed a bunch.
Sarahnade. Posted January 17, 2010 Posted January 17, 2010 I adore Blue, and I love that he still uses it/replicas or whatever at their shows.
