-Billiejoezee- Posted November 23, 2009 Posted November 23, 2009 Does this guy expect Green Day to keep on singing about Drugs and masturbation in their late 30's infront of their children?
Hermione Posted November 23, 2009 Posted November 23, 2009 The only thing I dont like about Green Day is the fucking guyliner. To me, this is what Green Day should look like http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uVtDeJrDD_0 back when they didnt really give a shit about how they lookedSounds like it's YOU who gives a shit what they look like . Wouldn't you prefer that they just look however they want to look?Green Day was way better around 1994. Most of you were babies then and don't know shit so I dont see why you even think you have a right to comment on that. In 1994 it was raw, it was straight forward punk, no fucking political bullshit. It was easier to relate. If I wanted to listen to a teacher I could pick up a bad religion album. Green Day was better before. They rock like hell now too, but it is nothing to what it was back then. They were cooler live then too. 1994-1996 was special.LOL!
dolce Posted November 23, 2009 Posted November 23, 2009 I've never seen a band have more fun on stage than Green Day. They work hard to make awesome music, and yes - they are serious. They're serious about making the best music they can for their fans. They also happen to be very funny and have an absolute blast doing what they do - that has ALWAYS been apparent. Why anyone would expect a 37 year old to write like a 16 year old, singing about boredom and masturbation, is beyond me. When the songwriter is a grown man with children who is worried what kind of world they are inheriting - I see no reason why he shouldn't be allowed to speak out about it. Billie has ALWAYS written about his life "right now". When he was a teenager he wrote about crushes, when he was in his twenties he wrote about his marriage, and in his thirties he's now writing about the things in the world that scare him. Green Day's music is relatable no matter what album you look at. They were never "all about humor" or "all serious". They've always had a mix of both and continue to do so.I don't love and respect Green Day because they produce pop-song after pop-song about falling in love. I love and respect them because in a time where the world is a very scary place, they're trying to make sense of it just like many of us are. To me it would be ridiculous to sing about love and sex 24/7 when you have the ability to raise awareness to important issues.

Pharmakon Posted November 24, 2009 Posted November 24, 2009 Sounds like the author (and some other stupid fuckers) need to watch the SNL video that's been posted!
Sunshine2385 Posted November 24, 2009 Posted November 24, 2009 SOURCEHarsh words. He obviously really doesn't like it. I have to be honest the album can be pretty hard to like. I guess its just not his cup of tea =PI also think he is a total cock for saying that!Total douchebag, the cd is amazing
Opezi Posted November 25, 2009 Posted November 25, 2009 green day are getting older and their music needs to grow and evolve with them. at first i really wanted GD to go back to their roots and make another hard punk album. but now i wouldnt want that at all. we dont need them stuck in the past. because GD arent these little 20 yr old druggies anymore they are socially aware very smart and talanted we have to let them grow and succeed
Harinezumi Posted November 25, 2009 Posted November 25, 2009 If I wanted to listen to a teacher I could pick up a bad religion album.Looks like you didn't, cuz you haven't learned shit.
saraHsunshine Posted November 25, 2009 Posted November 25, 2009 Obviously this album shows a continued growth for them as a band. Sometime people just can't appreciate the fact a band is unwilling to duplicate former albums. The way they have progressed shows how amazing they are as musicians and the way their sound/subject matter has changed over time just shows that they are human, and subject to age. Personaly I love the new album, if I had a time machine the first thing I would do is see them when I was too young to have gone to shows. For me the fact they have different souonds/periods/whatever makes it so that I can enjoy them no matter my mood.
Bubbles. Posted November 25, 2009 Posted November 25, 2009 Note to writer:Stop listening to new Green Day so much if you don't like them serious. You have a full career of albums you can to listen to at your own pleasure. That is all.Agreed!I love Green Day's early music, and I love them now.Serious? Yes... but that doesn't mean them, and their fans don't have fun at their shows looks like the guy who wrote the article isn't the only one needing a nice big cup of shut the fuck up.LOLGo you! xD
♥Christian and Gloria♥ Posted November 25, 2009 Posted November 25, 2009 Green Day is still very funny! I love them and there humor. its fantastical!
