HoneyDo666 Posted May 11, 2009 Posted May 11, 2009 I can't wait to see them! Can they plz just spell it Billie, is it so difficult?Anyway I'm glad the people who went had fun at the concert!
Hermione Posted May 11, 2009 Posted May 11, 2009 I really enjoyed reading that. It's great to hear all the little details, I could just imagine the whole thing . So glad you had such a wonderful time, I can't wait to see them for myself!
greendaytone Posted May 11, 2009 Posted May 11, 2009 A great show, as always! My main memories are:- really liking the sound of the new songs, which i've been holding off on listening to until the album is released. - it was a pretty small venue, i would say there were about 500 people there.- Billie Joe saw some guy in the crowd who was singing along to all the new songs, so he pulled him out to come and sing the next line. I think it was for East Jesus of Nowhere.- He also pulled out the first person that crowd surfed. This was during longview, and he got the guy to sing a verse of the song, which the guy did well i thought. This caused Billie Joe to forget the next verse, hence some laughter from the band/crowd while they tried to get it together.- They're always looking for a laugh on stage and its great to see.- I really like a part from a song where the music stops and Billie goes "Don't test me" in a St. Jimmy fashion.- It was unusual seeing Mike singing so much in one of the songs, but he sounded good.- There was some funny moments during King For A Day/Shout where the crowd was kneeling down and singing along, without the need for any prompting from Billie. Everyone seemed to know the score, so all did it before he got us going. I have a decent video of this which i'll try to put on here. All in all a good as usual Green Day show. This was my 13th time seeing them (including the Foxboro Hot Tubs) and it was worth the trip from England.I think this might be the kind of set they play on the arena tour. First part all new stuff and then 2nd part AI and other classics that people will have seen on BIAB. I'd like them to vary it more and play some rarer stuff, but for anyone seeing them for the first time, this is just what the doctor ordered!Bring on the next show!
.Brian Posted May 11, 2009 Author Posted May 11, 2009 - Billie Joe saw some guy in the crowd who was singing along to all the new songs, so he pulled him out to come and sing the next line. I think it was for East Jesus of Nowhere.it was before the lobotomy i think
.Brian Posted May 11, 2009 Author Posted May 11, 2009 you're welcome, but i'm not sure about it, it was the first and only time i heard the songs. don't mind if i'm wrong
ComaWhite Posted May 11, 2009 Posted May 11, 2009 you´re right brian..it was "before the lobotomy"and if we´re lucky the concert will be on tv in "wdr rockpalast"i saw myself this morning on tv *omfg* this was really scary XD
greendaytone Posted May 11, 2009 Posted May 11, 2009 I asked the guys who were filming it and they said it would be available to view on the 1Live website today...?Have any of you seen it already. A few of us were filmed outside after the gig, to say Auf Wiedersen!
ComaWhite Posted May 11, 2009 Posted May 11, 2009 i´ve seen no videos on their website.they will play the concert on the radio on sunday from 8-10pm.that´s all i know...
greendaytone Posted May 11, 2009 Posted May 11, 2009 Ok cool, the show was definitely being video recorded too, so something should surface.
chatnoir Posted May 11, 2009 Posted May 11, 2009 and if we´re lucky the concert will be on tv in "wdr rockpalast"Where did you hear that? That would be awesome. I asked the guys who were filming it and they said it would be available to view on the 1Live website today...?This is quite unlikely, because these radio concerts usually are not shown on tv or live stream, but will be only aired on radio. But who knows, they were definitely filming it, so it would be a shame, if they didn't show it, wouldn't it? I will be checking the website for news and post them here, if there is something new.
Bexie. Posted May 11, 2009 Posted May 11, 2009 Yea, I realized they were all wearing them. I've always noticed they were one of the few bands that never wore them. It makes me sad, and yes I know its dumb and it shouldn't, but that was one of the things I was always 'proud' of. Maybe not even proud, but it made me happy that they didn't need em before.like what someone said on the second page.... its in-ear monitoring not ear plugs.... it allows them too hear a mix of microphones/instruments that are on stage and provides a high level of noise reduction from stage noise.. its the same as having those speakers that face them on the floor (floor monitors) like this..
chatnoir Posted May 11, 2009 Posted May 11, 2009 I just found a video on youtube, which shows the kid singing the line from Before the lobotomy. The rest of the video is in crappy quality, but I wanted to share, because it was so nice. I saw the kid waiting outside before with his father, he was probably not older than 14, I think and I imagine, how cool he must have felt to sing this line on stage."Whiskey shots and cheap cigarettes"

Nobody_Likes_You Posted May 11, 2009 Posted May 11, 2009 The guy singing Before The Lobotomy was actually an asshole. I mean he's lucky and all and I'm jealous, too, but..He pushed me and my girlfriend all the time. We stood in front of him in the second row and he just pushed her away and wanted to stand next to her in the 2nd row. I mean why can't he just stand there? Hated that. And about the recording thing, the crew guy said that it was filmed for the internet(inernet:D), but he didn't knew anything more.
JellyCollin Posted May 11, 2009 Posted May 11, 2009 I haven't read the whole thread, but heeeey, I was there too!! In the front row, man! Right in front of Mike And I'm from Denmark - that's a nine hour trip by car!! And I was there, and it was the most awesome thing EVER!! Well, my friend and I sang along to the song from 21st Century Breakdown, and Tré made thumbs'up to my friend, because he saw, that we knew the text I also got Tré's drum stick A security guard (sp?) took the bottle of beer right in front of us, and we didn't get any of it But I've some pretty awesome pictures, that I'll send to Andres at the end of this week, so you can see 'em soon, I think
Ingrid Posted May 11, 2009 Posted May 11, 2009 So many wonderful pictures on Flickr - here's a few personal favourites of mine Oh what do you reckon - they're all of Billie Joe! How did that happen..? By the way, here's a couple that were apparently taken today, in France.Edit: Just realized that some of the pictures above might be from the Berlin show. Hah, I can't tell the difference
