though it's not a bad song and it is very catchy but there's just nothing special about it

I voted for See The Light. It's not even bad, it just unremarkable...so far.

What part does everyone not like about Christian's Inferno? The verses or the chorus?

Oh OK, I read some of the earlier posts...so the verses and chorus don't really fit together. I kind of agree with that. I would've liked them to have taken the sound of the verses and developed that further.

Inferno is awesome.

I dont understand what the fuss is about with KYE being the first single? Its a great catchy punk rocker, people are loving it here! Its at least number one 2 times a week here on the Hit List (vote your fav song, so that means the public love it) it dropped from 1st to 8th one night, then went to 4th, then 1st.

Seems like it worked out.

I don't hate it, I like it. But when you compare it to the other songs of the album, it's just not up to the standards. It's catchy and all, but waaaay too repetitive. Still a good song, though.

Christian's Inferno is probably my favorite song and you guys are all hating on it.

Yeah exactly. This is why Christians Inferno is probably my least favourite, still a good song though.

Easily "Horseshoes and Handgernades".

Don't get me wrong, it's a great song. It's going to be bad ass live. BUT...I really don't think it belongs on the album. It's basically this overtly distorted and loud song with the vocals buried under static - devoid of any chorus or melody. The album is a rock opera, and even the harder songs on AI at least had a catchy chorus (St. Jimmy comes to mind).

Lastly, the guitar riff sounds too much like the hives "main offender". Hell, even the way Billie sings the chorus is exactly like that song (both songs have the vocals buried in static). So that also knocks it down for me, because it sounds unoriginal.

The live version was 10x better. Instead of Billie growling out the lyrics (which u can barely hear on the studio) - he sings them with malice, as his voice bounced off the bass. They so fucked that one up in the studio.

O.o how can Restless Heart Syndrome have 8 votes when Song of the Century has 0?? RHS is one of my favorites on the album! SOTC is less than a minute and no one's voted for it yet?

That sounds so much better.

My favourites and least favourites are constantly changing, but tbh, it's hard for me not to like any of the songs.

my question to all listeners: why do you dislike Christian's Inferno?

because it doesn't sound like every other song they've made, or the fact that it's too weird for you usual standards?

It starts off like it'll be a NIN-esque song, then it shifts to jumpy punk, and then back again. I agree that its weird, but so is Christian.

Hah, I actually think this song is lovely - and a welcome relief after that bastardized version of Christian's Inferno we have to sit through. I feel like Inferno is a kink in the flow of the story, and Last Night On Earth anchors us back to the story. Also a great way to end an act.

I wouldn't say it's exact, but very similar. But what is the killer for me, is the fact that both bands sing the lyrics similar (with the distorted yelling voice).

The beginning of 21stCB and the beginning/end of See The Light sound too much like Baba O'Riely by The Who.

See, I'm a sucker for ballads - when done right. IMO, this was a nice throw back to a 60's era love song (especially the guitar toward the end). But hey, to each his/her own. :wub:

Holy hell...all these votes for KYE. I think if it weren't the lead single it wouldn't be leading this vote. It IS a good song. Repetitive is the way it's supposed to be, though. Billie's trying to make a simple point, so it's a simple song with a huge meaning.

I vote for Last of the American Girls. Can't really get into that one. Last Night on Earth would be shortly behind that, though. It was kind of a toss-up, actually.

I still like them all, I guess. LotAG just seems like a rewrite of all the Whatsername songs on AI (She's a rebel/extraordinary girl/whatsername).

Actually, the Hives WERE sued. I forgot for which song, but I actually thought it was that song. No lies. :lol:

I really wouldn't be shocked if someone tried to sue Green Day for that riff. Jesus, it's been so over used.

Any comparison to the Who is not bad though. ESPECIALLY Baba O'Riley. I don't think they ripped it off or anything. Even so, the who are an influence listed by the band and as far as I'm concerned music is anyone's to use, as long as it isn't a blatant rip-off, which I don't really think it is.

The demo version was a rip off of "Bab O' Riley" - but the final version they took that out. So it really doesn't sound like it that much anymore.
