Eirik Posted May 11, 2009 Posted May 11, 2009 ^Well, you've grown to like the song, nothing strange about that. This was hard but I don't really like peacemaker.
Ingrid Posted May 11, 2009 Posted May 11, 2009 ^Well, you've grown to like the song, nothing strange about that. No, it wasn't just that I didn't like the song to begin with; the first time I heard it I just got this very strong 'OH MY GOD I'VE HEARD THIS SONG WAYY TOO MANY TIMES AND I'M SICK OF IT, GET THE FUCK OUT OF MY HEAD NOW'-feeling. You know, that feeling. Even I didn't see that reaction coming, to be honest. It was pretty random.
Kimpsu Posted May 11, 2009 Posted May 11, 2009 nah Know Your Enemy isn't that bad that you all say it is. It may be repeative, but it works for me. Repeating the same line "Do you know the enemy/Do you know your enemy/Well gotta know the enemy" makes it quite powerful. But this seems to be just my opinion. I'd say my least favorite song off 21CB is Murder City. It sounds too much like AI, and verses' guitar doesn't work for me at all.
Guest Hayley Posted May 11, 2009 Posted May 11, 2009 thats ones my fave...but anyway...i can't get into christians inferno still...its to much like the network...and if i'm honest i'm not to keen on the network! and know your enemy gets slightly boring when you have heard it a few times.yeah I know you love thsi song. It's nice but it a bit weird to me.I know...
Chad is Rad Posted May 11, 2009 Posted May 11, 2009 "Know your enemy" really is a boring song. I think they tried to repeat the "American Idiot" type of song but failed miserably. Kind of reminds me of the repetiveness of Bad Religions "Raise your voice!" only worse."Horseshoes And Handgrenades" is also a song that falls into the gray mass. It doesn't really stand out. There's nothing that makes it interesting."21 Guns" is boring too. Feels like I have heard it a million times already. I don't really like the theme of the song as well as the melody. I don't even know what Green Day is fighting anymore. Bush was the best thing that could happen to punk and with AI Green Day managed great timing, but what now? Obama is not good enough either? I think they made a mistake to keep whining about the politics. It's like the review said, BJ is good at calling for revolution but does not offer any solutions. Im sorry to say it becomes pathetic somehow. Whine just to whine."Viva la gloria" starts of great. Could have been one of the best songs ever written by Green Day but then they ruin it all with the distortion. Damn. They chickened out because probably they thought it was too much of a musical. Beautiful song until 1.07 minutes. "Before the lobotomy" same thing there. Starts of Great! The new and better "Wake me up when september ends" but then it just falls flat on its face. I cant even tell if it is the same song. Boring."Murder city" this song is alright, but to be honest I expected more after all these years and I know BJ can write much better songs. I cant believe a song like this made it on the album. Should have been replaced with "Hearts Collide".You're talking like you don't even like Green Day. Shame."Know your enemy" really is a boring song. I think they tried to repeat the "American Idiot" type of song but failed miserably. .Brian Posted May 11, 2009 Posted May 11, 2009 You, sir, are a wise, wise man. I agree 100%. This is why I no longer listen to the radio. I don't want them to ruin 21 Guns same here let's hope it won't end up like boulevard of broken dreams
jose armstrong Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 im going to stop reading this thread now. some of the opinions are obsurd...some folks just dont know good music when its pumped into their skulls a week early.I like you
DarrenDookie Posted May 15, 2009 Posted May 15, 2009 The only song I dont like is Peacemaker, it doesnt fit in with the rest of the album at all

Whine just to whine. It's been said before; just because Obama is a new president and offers a different point of view doesn't mean he's automatically off the hook. We still haven't seen the effect of Obama's presidency yet. And "21 Guns" is an anti-war song... you do realize that we are still at war, correct? We are still sending troops to Afghanistan.
Banan Posted May 15, 2009 Posted May 15, 2009 I know I might sound like a teenieweenie-i-want-to-marry-billY Joe-cant-hear-the-difference-between-GD-and-Jonas Brothers- kind of person now (it really hurt spelling BJ's name wrong >.< And it also hurt mention JB) but I loved every song on the album, and can't think of ONE song I didn't like ^^ They were all pretty good.

thisisAB Posted May 15, 2009 Posted May 15, 2009 I've only gone through 2 acts so far, but I'm not all that into Before the Lobotomy and Christian's Inferno (that's about the most negative thing I could possibly say about this album)
Green Day 13 Posted May 16, 2009 Posted May 16, 2009 kind of a negative poll but if i had to choose one it would be Last Night On Earth its just not fast enough for me. its sweet though
Clayish Posted May 16, 2009 Author Posted May 16, 2009 Now that I have listened to the album 3 times. My least favorite song is Static AgeIt just doesnt do it for me
Bob4775 Posted May 16, 2009 Posted May 16, 2009 see the light.its not THAT bad, just not up to par as the rest of the album is. atleast in my opinion
Serpent72 Posted May 16, 2009 Posted May 16, 2009 I like every song, but my least favorite is Restless Heart Syndrome. It's good, but not really that great.
bernagd Posted May 16, 2009 Posted May 16, 2009 American Eulogy [ 4 ] [1.60%] i feel like a strange loli didnt like it, but not the hole song, only ''mass hysteria'' i was very disappointed till i hear MODERN WORLD PD: we really need this icon on the forum
Captain Pasalacqua Posted May 16, 2009 Posted May 16, 2009 Probably Horseshoes since its a complete rip-off of the Hives Main Offender.
Nimrod99 Posted May 16, 2009 Posted May 16, 2009 I like the whole album, but my least fav. is KYE. It has nothing to do with being a single. The ONLY thing I didn't like about it was it was too repetitive. It's not bad by any means though. I like the pumped feeling it gives you.
