deathtofalsesushi Posted May 9, 2009 Posted May 9, 2009 A lot of those bands can fill an arena by themselves. Kaiser Chiefs and Franz Ferdinand generally play theaters in the US, so I'm expecting someone at that level of popularity. Pitchfork suggested the Arctic Monkeys, I suppose to go along with the NME-approved theme. I thought maybe it would be Bloc Party, but they already have dates scheduled during that time.
tapdancingowl Posted May 9, 2009 Posted May 9, 2009 I would love to see any of these bands with Green Day, but they are talented and popular enough now that they don't need to be an opening act. It would kind of be like a backwards step for any of them, even if it is Green Day. Honestly, I don't even think Green Day needs an opening act at this point. I'd be happy with just them.
RebelofSuburbia Posted May 9, 2009 Posted May 9, 2009 None of those, I'd like it if it were Weezer but I really doubt that.Shouldn't this thread be closed though? We already have one like this:http://www.greendaycommunity.org/Forum/ind...showtopic=67902
Muttweed182 Posted May 9, 2009 Posted May 9, 2009 My second favorite band is blink 182. No way in hell I would want them to tour with Green Day. blink can sell arenas ( maybe some stadiums) by themselves. They don't need Green Day and Green Day don't need them for they can do the same. All those acts would do is nothing but drive ticket prices up. They need to take a smaller band and give them some light.Muse would be awesome (my 7th favorite band). But they would drive ticket prices up and they are touring with U2 I think.
perfectpitchrob Posted May 9, 2009 Posted May 9, 2009 Blink 182, or Weezer. I'm a fan of both, and it would be nice to see them. A Punk band and an indie rock band influenced by Green Day. Out of the two of them, I'd prefer to see a reformed Blink 182. Who knows, maybe their new album will be an epic just like 21CB.Definitely not MCR or Fall out Boy as they are too emo for me, and if they toured, that would give Green Day too much of a poppy and emo image. It's bad enough that one of the magazines I read (forgot which one) said "green day have returned to their emo roots".
Austyn Posted May 9, 2009 Posted May 9, 2009 Vote Dizzee Rascal.THIS.Even though it would probably never, ever happen :[
Eirik Posted May 9, 2009 Posted May 9, 2009 Naw, they can carry themselves.Muse would be awesome, too Are you suggesting Muse can't carry themselves?
