No one outside of my house and friends know I love Green Day, but I've been talking nonstop about them for a month, so now everyone I know rolls their eyes and sighs every time I say "Green Day". xD I wish my teachers knew.......maybe Green Day *IS* the reason I'm failing chem! Haha

Then the boy comes up and is all "Why do Green Day say random things in their songs? You know, like in She..." I have a reputation. :/I have the same sort of reputation in my group of friends. If any mention of Green Day comes up, they take the opportunity to make fun of the fact that I'm "obsessed" and apparently constantly talk about them, even though I hardly ever mention them. Now I think about it, that's probably the reason why I don't like talking about them; I'm told to shut up.

I get all ninja and ask them for an example, and they usually say "Um...Basket Case?" or run away cuz they were BSing. xD I swear to God my best friend almost had her eyes clawed out (by me... ) when she said she though American Idiot was their first album.

One of them saw the Green Day magnet I had on the inside, and said loudly to his friends so I would hear, "You wanna know a band I don't like? Green Day." like he was waiting for me to defend them or something. I smiled and walked away.But it's so funny watching my best friend if I ever mention Green Day. She sort of pretends to get excited, like when I said Green Day were coming to Belfast, she was like, "Awesome!!" but I know she doesn't really give a damn.

I've never talked to one of them, and one harassed me about it 24/7 last year. It was really annoying. Over Spring Break, I was on a camping trip with my Texas History class, and a few eighth graders, the kids from Marfa and Canutillo (West Texas school districts, for those who want to know) were always all "Green Day is soooo old, listen to [insert newer band here]!" One girl even complained about how I talked about The Beatles for about five minutes.Just because something is old, doesn't mean it sucks.

Now I think about it, that's probably the reason why I don't like talking about them; I'm told to shut up. thats the same exact thing i go through, i just wanted to mention why i wouldn't be going to one of my friend's play, so i said i might be going out to get the new green day album and listen to it with a couple of other friends, they were like "OMG, you always talk about green day or blink 182 (which i hardly ever do) " it's funny because then they'd go on and talk about kanye or lady gaga or 3Oh!3 non-stop, im the odd one out in my group of friends. my health teacher is an ass, when we were learning about marijuana, i wanted mention the origin of "Green Day" so i asked him if he's ever heard of green day, two of my friends groaned, and he said not again. now we're learning about the environment so i told him about the "americans throw away enough paper to make a wall of paper stretching from NY to CA that is 12 feet high and 12 feet thick" thing he asked me where i learned that, i said the whole thing with green day and nrdc, he said i talk about them too much, and that was the second time i ever did in his class, he doesn't mind having girls talk about edward cullen every five senconds...

So i believe your teachers are right in saying get off gda or what other website you people where on. mainly because if you had finished your required work you should be reviewing other work of the subject in the remaining time you have left. also if they make an exception by saying you can lurk the internet when you have finished your assignment people would be rushing through their work to browse the internet aswell as not even doing their work and saying they have finished it.just my 2 cents.also I agree with Andres, I really dont like talking to people about bands I love. or Green Day for that matter.they say oh i like that song on the radio. and thats as far as they go. they dont really understand the meaning or impact this group has had on my life. so i prefer to just say yes they are my favourite band and move on with the conversation. otherwise its like talking to a brick wall when im firing off the names of my favourite songs, bootlegs, videos interviews etc.

Like, someone will come into to my room see the posters, and usually ask "So i guess you like Green Day huh?", and I almost always say "Yeah, what kind of stuff do you listen to?", just because I don't feel like carrying on a conversation about the band. They usually either say "I like some of their stuff" or "I'm not a huge fan", and I just feel like saying "Well, i didn't really ask for your opinion, nor do I care what you think about them, but thanks".Same here. I don't even know what exactly my friends think of them. When I mention something about GD they smirk and are like 'you still listen to them?' So our conversation ends up after me saying 'Yes, and I'm not going to stop'. I wonder how they react that I'm going to another country to see them
