Swedish_Idiot Posted May 11, 2009 Posted May 11, 2009 The only song on the whole album that i find myself skipping past is "last of the american girls" Ive listened to it a few times and its not a bad song. I think its just the intro to it turns me off it.Other than that its a top albumLast Of The American Girls is probably one of my favourite songs of 21stCB.
Jessayy Posted May 11, 2009 Posted May 11, 2009 Last Of The American Girls is probably one of my favourite songs of 21stCB.Same
emmaILGD! Posted May 11, 2009 Posted May 11, 2009 ^ At the moment, Peacemaker's my favourite, but Last of the American Girls is coming in very close second.
theeulogy Posted May 11, 2009 Posted May 11, 2009 I'm still standin' to Peacemaker....It's amazing!*people in subway don't support me((((*
fashionvictim86 Posted May 11, 2009 Posted May 11, 2009 I skip over Peacemaker and Viva la Gloria! (Little Girl)
tatianakp Posted May 11, 2009 Posted May 11, 2009 wow I'm speachless..... I've always thought that AI is the bst fucking album I've ever heard in my entire life, but 21st CB is much way better.I really love every single song, especially 21 Guns, u know, something wrong happened to me last fall, kind of family tragedy and I'm still very veryunhappy..... and it seems to me that Billie has written this song for me. Every single word is just like about me. Nowadays, this one really helps me get through hard times. I cry because of this song. I love all of Billie's lyrics, they've always helped me. Billie is only one person for me, who really know how to write best fucking songs.I've loved him sooooo much for the last 15 years, he's so amazing, he is in my heart forever, especially because of this beautiful song, 21 Guns.I very like also Peacemaker, East Jesus Nowhere, both of Glorias, Before the Lobotomy, American Eulogy.... actually everything of the new stuff..... And what about Billie's voice? OMG it's so beautiful, unique, mature..... simply the best
Anma Posted May 11, 2009 Posted May 11, 2009 I skip over Peacemaker and Viva la Gloria! (Little Girl)These are my favorite songs at this moment
RogueBreakdown Posted May 11, 2009 Posted May 11, 2009 A lot of the songs I'm seeing come up are alright, but I'm surprised no one is as head over heels for Last Night on Earth as I am. And both of the Gloria's.I need to continue listening to all of it and not just skip to those songs. Last Night on Earth is AMAZING!!! One of my favorite songs on the album wow I'm speachless..... Posted May 11, 2009 Posted May 11, 2009 *singing*i dont wanna live in the modern worldi dont wanna live in the modern worldi dont wanna live in the modern worldi dont wanna live in the modern worldmass hysteriaThat's been in my head for about 3 days now. At least it's better than the Hannah Montana shit I was singing before
Rita Posted May 11, 2009 Posted May 11, 2009 I seem to be the only one that isn't fascinated with 21 Guns. It's an okay song but I don't think it's all that ~ amazing ~.
Jessayy Posted May 11, 2009 Posted May 11, 2009 . At least it's better than the Hannah Montana shit I was singing before .....them songs ARE kind of catchy...
Corey25 Posted May 11, 2009 Posted May 11, 2009 When I first heard the 7 songs I was not overly thrilled. THey had the really punk songs next to the ballads so it was a stark contrast. Also I found Know your enemy a bit repetative. Now that I have heard the album ( at least 50 times all the way through) I have heard how the songs are in context with the rest of the album and I am very pleased. I have come to appreciate the little nuances and song placement choices that take you on the journey through the story ( loose as it may be). I probably Like their albums Nimrod and Warning best, but this album is definitely a good progression for them without rehashing what they have sone before too much. It has a punk spirit, but is more about the album as a whole. I tended to skip the ballads on American Idiot, but they fit better on this album and so I love'em.
Eirik Posted May 11, 2009 Posted May 11, 2009 I seem to be the only one that isn't fascinated with 21 Guns. It's an okay song but I don't think it's all that ~ amazing ~.I like it a lot, but it's definitely not my favorite on the album.
Corey25 Posted May 11, 2009 Posted May 11, 2009 I skip over Peacemaker and Viva la Gloria! (Little Girl)Those songs are fan-freakin-tastic.....why do you skip them? You don't like world music influenced songs? Did you hear misery on 'Warning' ? Or the RHCP song Cabron? Or any of the Beatles SGT Peppers album? You can have your opinion of course just wondering how you can like other songs on the album and not these ?
The Disappearing Boy Posted May 11, 2009 Posted May 11, 2009 I seem to be the only one that isn't fascinated with 21 Guns. It's an okay song but I don't think it's all that ~ amazing ~.agreed.
vegetarianxorgasm Posted May 11, 2009 Posted May 11, 2009 Last night on earth is drab. You all know my thoughts on KYE, and before the lobotamy has yet to grow on me.Other than that 21st Century Breakdown seems to be a pretty sweet album! What makes you say it's drab?I think it's absolutely sweepmeoffmyfeet gorgeous, melodic, and meaningful.Last Night on Earth is AMAZING!!! One of my favorite songs on the album Good deal. I seem to be the only one that isn't fascinated with 21 Guns. It's an okay song but I don't think it's all that ~ amazing ~.Nah. It's not great. I'm kind of disapointed that it's the weapon of choice for the next single, I guess.

I listened to the whole album last night and I just couldn't get into it. :/ I dunno. All the songs sound kind of the same to me. Except for the last song, Peacemaker and KYE. Those are the only memorable ones imo. -parade killer-

Because if so: I think Peacemaker, Horseshoes and Handgrenades, and Christian's Inferno sound similar.
woven_basketcase Posted May 11, 2009 Posted May 11, 2009 Which part? Spring Awakening? Because if so: mmhmm. I love that show. I haven't seen it yet, though. mehh.
arrie44 Posted May 11, 2009 Posted May 11, 2009 From a VERY experienced Green Day fan, while I still feel American Idiot or Insomniac are better albums, I have to say Act 3 of 21CB is maybe the best string of quality songs from any of their other albums. That American Idiot, JOS, Holiday, BVBD tear was amazing. So was Chump - She on Dookie, but Act 3 as a whole is VERY strong. Kudos to them for backloading what is a long record, a lot of bands like to put the best stuff up front.
Ally Posted May 11, 2009 Posted May 11, 2009 im still in love with the static age.yeah that is an ace song...i was listening to that a few minutes ago...back to peacemaker now for about the 100th time!
arrie44 Posted May 11, 2009 Posted May 11, 2009 im still in love with the static age.I love the irony of how diverse all of us Green Day fans are. I see a lot of people who don't like The Static Age and are calling it "pure filler", while I personally think it is very likely to be the next single and would have been a much better pick than KYE (any song would have be better that KYE for that matter).
