Kate Austen Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 that'd be 2nd and 3rd gen loss I thinkYeah. I still think most the leaks floating around are all from the web rip to be honest.
Starbug Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 I think it's kinda Magical Mystery Tourish, it's got the strings and piano and some vocal effects...kinda sounds like a Lennon song when it starts out. That's where I see the similarities. It's its own thang though, I'm not hung up on it.Well, AI was their Sgt. Peppers...No matter what you think of the album, you gotta give the band props for not just copying and pasting American Idiot. One thing we can mostly agree on is its no AI, for better or worse. That's a safe bet. Please, don't post download links. You poor mods, fighting a losing battle lol I bet it's helped, though, posting that at the top of the page in caps lolI'm loving this album. I didn't think it could happen, but they've outdone AI. Stupendous!! *insert a clapping smiley here*I'm especially happy to hear that Billie's using his pure voice (as opposed to his Green Day voice) so much more than ever and he's sustaining notes and even letting us hear his vibrato. Yay!! I'm loving the falsetto. Pretty
boringdays Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 Well, here is an example.I could take the shitty web rip that was at 128kbps - burn it on a CD, then re-rip that CD as FLAC or 320kbps. Then, people think the FLAC (this is the closest you can get to CD quality) or the 320kbps is legit, when in all reality, it is still the web rip. So taking a lower quality - and re-coding it as a better quality = transcode.Make sense? I have a feeling since the stream happened today, a lot of these "320kbps" floating around aren't CD rips, but transcodes of the web rip. It happens EVERY TIME something streams or is leaked in low quality. Within hours after, someone will transcode it. Quite annoying.Which this kind of thing is really common to happen for leaked releases such as this one. Basically some dildo re-encodes as flac and can run around with the epeen tossin his "flac" rip around, when in actuality he's still got a webrip that just looks fancy.
Rezurgam Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 Yes, but Billie himself said in an article he believed in a higher power. I just dont think he means in the traditional sense And I also think that that's a good explanation. I remember reading some review saying the whole was greater than the sum of its parts, but I can't see it being a bad album. I bet you're right on the money. It's nice to believe we're a part of something bigger, playing a part in someone's lives we might not even be aware of...We are a tapestry lol How profoundHahaha, tapestry. You totally made me feel good about myself. *coughdisneycough*Of course, there's that god awful company too.
Starbug Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 i like about 6 songs, the rest i haven't really gotten into yet, but maybe i will after a rew listens, definitely not as good as american idiot, but whatever.n wow, green day's plastered all over the internet today haha, they've been on like every site i've visited. It took me a few listens, too. Though I haven't heard the whole thing yet... I'm sitting here listening to ?Viva La Gloria? and I'm going to bed, no more no more If I can get a whole download of the whole cd tomorrow, I might listen to it... lol But otherwise, I'm waiting. I'm good at waiting. The best, in fact. Though I've never really tested that theory on new Green Day music.
IzButt Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 Holy shit this album is amazing. It just made me feel so good after a terrible day. Yes yes yes.

They say Track 1 only looks shitty, cuz the way they recorded it (Billie singing through a radio). They said Track 2 checked out. I'm still skeptical, but let's see after they run some more tests.
Modern Zero. Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 Oh God.....This album is SO AMAZING. D=I just spent a little over an hour, lying on my bed with my eyes closed, and played 21CB start to finish. My eyes hurt now...and it' 12:53 AM.....xDA lot of these songs were not how I originally thought they were going to sound. Like with both Viva La Glorias. I thought that Viva La Gloria? was going to be a slower ballad type song and that Viva La Gloria! was going to be faster when it's kinda the opposite lol And then with See The Light, I thought it was going to be slower than that. But...ugh...it's hard to pick favorites with this album. I think some of my most favorites are: Both Viva La Glorias, Last Night On Earth, East Jesus Nowhere, Restless Heart Syndrome, The Static Age, 21 Guns, and See The Light. ...I think this album is WAY bigger than American Idiot. Although don't get me wrong, I LOVE American Idiot, and it was pretty amazing....but 21CB just sounds so much more diverse and creative and one of the best things about this album is the way that Billie sings it. The falsetto is just beautiful. Especially in Restless Heart Syndrome with the "I'm elated, Medicated" and the "So what ails you, is what impales you" and also in Last Night On Earth of course. I think so far, the song that I can most relate to is probably 21 Guns. I cry so much when I listen to that song. Idk why. I also kinda relate to Restless Heart Syndrome also. =)
Starbug Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 Hahaha, tapestry. You totally made me feel good about myself. Of course, there's that god awful company too. That is what I'm here for lol But really, we are. We're all threads in the same tapestry making one big, beautiful picture. It wouldn't be the same without all of us as part of it. I love that analogy and always have.am i the only one not doing this?Nope. lol It would take me all night and day to listen to this entire album, and I don't have it in me. And I want to wait. So I'm waiting for this one song, since it's already started and I can't go to bed without finishing it, and that's it for me.
Juan Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 Of course, there's that god awful company too. I liked Cars though. It's just the "We'll take all over the world with Jonas and Hannah" thing that's depraved.I do like some of their movies

I'm forcing myself to wait until it comes out.

Current Disney is really bad but their older stuff is good, like Lion King.

soundbarrier4 Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 I really love the album.American Eulogy, Christian's Inferno and Murder City are my favorites so far.I do like how there's no epic 9 minute songs like Jesus of Suburbia on the album. The longest song is 5:21.
