I'm going to rip it on a cd and go wake up my mom to listen to it (It's 3.20am - poor her lol)

and then go to sleepys listening or at least try

Love it.

thank you so much Green Day.

Did someone rip or start ripping all the songs yet? If not, I'm just going to start now.

It's probably already been said but Christians Inferno sounds very Network-y to me.

I like this, but it's really hitting me weird right now - not going to lie. Some songs are missing hooks and melodies. I think American Idiot had a much better closer for the album (Homecoming to Whatsername)..

And i just feel like this album is really ambitious, really epic, and really experimental (in some ways). Almost hard to digest.

I agree with the above. It might end up getting hurt because it's so ambitious. I think that would be dumb, but especially in America the vast majority (to quote Billie) are complete imbeciles who provide a market to anything Britney Spears or Miley Cyrus does. So really..anything good just gets lost sometimes. AI didn't fortunately, but we'll see. A lot has changed in 5 years and some may not be willing to admit the truth of the album title - especially when we have Mr. Oh-he-will-save-us Obama in office.

Most likely if the albums were switched in terms of release...21 CB would outsell AI (even whatever AI ended up selling). But the whole mood of the country is kinda less pissed off, so we'll see.

My personal favorite is ¿Viva La Gloria?

I can't stop listening to it. It's sooooo fucking GREAT

The only complaint that I have about this album, is there are not enough "fucks"..

But, even with that problem, this album is fucking awesome.

If anyone wanna be linked... PM me.

I keep listening to Last Night On Earth over and over again.

so, which song was playing in that video of Billie recording and mixing that got us all excited?

Static Age is pretty damn good. H&H is the fastest track on the album, and it's pretty good.

I've logged at least 1 listen to each song now except See the Light, and that's coming soon. At 21 Guns now.

Initially I have to say this is a fantastic album and I'm happy to spend the money to buy it. It's really terrific.

Exactly. I've listened to this whole album and it's really hit and miss. I understand them wanting to experiment, but I think they should have retained more of their punk sound...at least under the name Green Day. American Idiot was pushing it, but this album takes it a bit too far. I still feel Nimrod is the perfect balance.

There's just not a lot about this album that really grabs me. Why Lights Out and Hearts Collide didn't make it on the album is beyond me. Both those songs are better than a lot of what I've heard so far.

Dare I say American Idiot > 21st Century Breakdown

Hi everyone. This is my first post here. I happened to have registered earlier today, and it's good timing because I feel like I need to discuss the new album with people who give a shit. ha

My thoughts:

Well, it's better than I thought it'd be. After one listen I think it's better than American Idiot. It sounds somewhere between American Idiot and Warning (and a part or two that sounds like The Network) . It picks up after the 'first act' (ugh). I feel like it'll probably grow on me after a couple more listens.
