W Axl Rose Posted May 7, 2009 Posted May 7, 2009 Are poster boards allowed into concerts tjhese days. The Chicago show will only be my 2nd concert (first begin Zappa Plays Zappa) so I don't know too much about that stuff. I'm asking because I want to but in big letters on the poster board "Have Tre sing All By Myself and Dominated Love Slave!"I brought one for the Irving Plaza AI club show in 04. It said I drove 8 hours to hear "Who Wrote Holden Caulfield" Didn't do any good though as they didn't play it. Just don't hold it up the whole time or you will get your ass beat. Wait for a break in songs when Billie is talking to the crowd. Also, pick better songs than those That's disappointing. Its a great song, but it takes up so much time that could be donated to playing more of their older material. I'd kill to hear She's a Rebel live. That would be fun.I heard She's a Rebel twice in 04 at the Club shows in NYC and Toronto. I wouldn't exactly call that old material.I want King For A Day! It is boring, it sucks and takes up wayyyy too much time.

I was going to pick "Coming Clean" or "The Grouch" to put on my poster board, but I'm picking the Tre songs because it's probably more likely they'll play those. It is boring, it sucks and takes up wayyyy too much time.Well the Shout part does sometimes  But it's still on my wish list of things for them to play!

I wouldn't exactly call that old material. It is boring, it sucks and takes up wayyyy too much time. She's a Rebel was more of a separate line of consciousness. And King for A Day does take up way too much time. Lets see them do that sort of deal with the crowd but using another song.
Hermione Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 I love all the little traditions they have that go with certain songs so I hope they keep as many of those songs as possible . Songs that they do all the time that they tend to do more straightforwardly, like Basket Case, I'm not really bothered about either way. Overall it'd be cool to hear some rarer stuff thrown in, but I like all their songs so I'm not that fussy.Knowledge, Hitchin A Ride, King For A Day, Good Riddance, do them!

rage-love-life Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 Never been to one of their concerts before, but I would like these songs:CastawayDominated Love SlaveLetterbombBasket CaseWhen I Come AroundOther classics.
Zalex Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 On every Green Day tour, the band plays an average of 5-7 new songs off their latest record.Even during the Nimrod tour, I saw them 5 times between 1997-1998 and they only played Nice Guys Finish Last, Hitchin' A Ride, Time of Your Life, Platypus, Prosthetic Head and King For A Day (One of those times they also played Scattered and Redundant.)What show did they play Redundant at!?I'd kill to see Redundant, Waiting, and Poprocks & Coke.God, I almost cried when I saw New Found Glory just COVER Waiting.
Zalex Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 I just want fire. The simulated fire at the Fox was nice, but it really didn't cut it. I want FIRE!!!Also, I want Panic Song. I don't know if they'll ever play it live again, but damnit I want to hear Panic Song!!!ahahahaha yes. fire.i want 21 guns and fire.... fuck madison square garden isnt outside... i highly doubt theyll do fire there
MusicalDeviant Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 ahahahaha yes. fire.i want 21 guns and fire.... fuck madison square garden isnt outside... i highly doubt theyll do fire there Its okay, neither is the Forum. Its a shame that they're not doing it at the Home Depot Center this time around. It is an open-air arena. And from what I remember, there was some fire, and Fireworks!!!

Alex Screams Remedy Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 I think it's a dead cert' that they'd play the whole of the new record from front to back. That'd be almost 2 hours I should think... then they should play at least an hour of oldies. Oh my. My dream list would be:21st Century Breakdown (as an album whole).'oldies'- When I Come Around.- Disappearing Boy.- Paper Lanterns.- Nice Guys Finish Last.- Hitchin' A Ride.- Welcome to Paradise.- Longview.- KNOWLEDGE!! They gotta still get kids up to play that one.- 80.- Geek Stink Breath.- Only of You.- Holiday.- Whatsername.- Homecoming.- The Grouch. There's many more I'd love them to play.. Heck, I'd get them to play their whole song catalogue, from front to back.I don't think they will play the whole album... I guess the will play about 2 hours... 2/3 New 1/3 old maybe or 50/50
novacaine_kid Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 I would say from the new album about 8 songs, 21CB, KYE, Viva La Gloria, Murder City, Static Age, American Eulogy, 21 guns and Before the Lobotomy. But i guess they could change a few of those around as they continue on their tour. Maybe bring in Peacemaker and Horshoes and Handgrenades as well. Then the rest of the set will be oldies. Hopefully more pre Dookie stuff.

Id get rid of 80 and replace with 86 though According to the lastest shows list, they play 11 songs from Breakdown, and the shittest overplayed oldies (except AI and JOS) Im mean, Longview is good, but if your gonna play songs like that, play a big list of oldies!

AlanJLegend Posted May 8, 2009 Author Posted May 8, 2009 Would anybody here be more than happy for Longview, King for a day, Brain Stew and Hitchin' a ride to be left out and replaced with some pre-Dookie stuff or songs off Dookie and Insomniac which weren't the 'big ones'? I sure would.
Alex. Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 21st Century Breakdown (in its entirety)+ (in no order)Coming CleanShePaper LanternsGive Me NovacaineWelcome to ParadiseBrat86At the LibraryReject MinorityWhatsername29 songs... I reckon they could pull it off, most of them only go for 2-3 mins anyway.
Katarina. Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 I would be more than happy if they'd play Paper Lanterns!
wwnflat_punk Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 I think the majority of songs will be from American Idiot and the new album, but I wish they would play some different old songs like Geek Stink Breath,Christie Road,Armatage Shanks, and maybe some from the Warning era. Both times I've seen them they played almost the exact same setlist with a few minor changes. And hopefully they will play smaller places in the US later on, instead of the arenas.
tq6993 Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 seeing as this tour will be my first. i am hoping for J.O.S. which they will probably play, Homecoming, WICO, She, and F.O.D. (in my dreams...). but i am not looking at any setlist before i go to my show! i want it to be a surprise!
