Ally Posted May 7, 2009 Posted May 7, 2009 I don't even care. I'm still amazed and way too happy I'm even going! It will be the best night of my life is they play Christie Road (though I doubt it).yeah same here to both sentences! Would be amazing if they sang Christie Road
Sonu Posted May 7, 2009 Posted May 7, 2009 billie said in a german Radio interview they want to play 2 1/2 or 3 hours...
Trotsky Posted May 7, 2009 Posted May 7, 2009 All I know is that if on August 3rd I don't hear East Jesus Nowhere live then I'm going to permanently hate Green Day forever.
BadgerLALA Posted May 7, 2009 Posted May 7, 2009 I hope they play some old songs too. More that just Basket Case.
Daughter.of.Rage.and.Love Posted May 7, 2009 Posted May 7, 2009 I hope them playing a lot of oldies, and not the whole of 21CB.(Well, unless it's the whole of 21CB and then a lot of oldies afterwards)My list for the oldies would be waaay too long, but I'd love to at least see She, Christie Road, WMUWSE (strange to see that as an oldie ), Take Back just to see how the hell that'd turn out, Whatsername, Knowledge, Minority, maybe 80, 86 or Stuart and the Ave, Hitchin' a Ride.... and Good Riddance and Basket Case just because it belongs there And a lot more, but I'm too lazy to type everything out.

gdpunk2 Posted May 7, 2009 Posted May 7, 2009 I really really really hope they play Basket Case, I assume they will, but they never played it last month :/ And some stuff from American Idiot.I hope them playing a lot of oldies, and not the whole of 21CB.(Well, unless it's the whole of 21CB and then a lot of oldies afterwards)My list for the oldies would be waaay too long, but I'd love to at least see She, Christie Road, WMUWSE (strange to see that as an oldie ), Take Back just to see how the hell that'd turn out, Whatsername, Knowledge, Minority, maybe 80, 86 or Stuart and the Ave, Hitchin' a Ride.... and Good Riddance and Basket Case just because it belongs there And a lot more, but I'm too lazy to type everything out. it would be good to hear Take Back. I would love to hear Stuart and the ave too. But definately Basket Case, Minority, Good Riddance and WMUWSE

MusicalDeviant Posted May 7, 2009 Posted May 7, 2009 I just want fire. The simulated fire at the Fox was nice, but it really didn't cut it. I want FIRE!!!Also, I want Panic Song. I don't know if they'll ever play it live again, but damnit I want to hear Panic Song!!!
NoVaCaInE! Posted May 7, 2009 Posted May 7, 2009 ^^ so you mean to say they're only going to play 6 of their new songs? Come on, they didnt write an 18 track record for nothing. They'll probably drop most of the american idiot songs
djrossstar Posted May 7, 2009 Posted May 7, 2009 On every Green Day tour, the band plays an average of 5-7 new songs off their latest record.Even during the Nimrod tour, I saw them 5 times between 1997-1998 and they only played Nice Guys Finish Last, Hitchin' A Ride, Time of Your Life, Platypus, Prosthetic Head and King For A Day (One of those times they also played Scattered and Redundant.)

Considering its a two hour set, and that they covered the entire album at the fox show in an hour, I wouldn't be shocked if they performed a majority of the songs on the new album.
deadair Posted May 7, 2009 Posted May 7, 2009 I just hope they do another song than Knowledge to start a band. That or stop it all together. It can take anywhere from 7-12 minutes. Theres 4 oldies right there. All I ask is for them to play Android live.Yeah, I was hoping they'd have audience members do Blitzkrieg Bop again. I like that song better anyways.I hope they don't do WMUWSE, I'm so f*****g sick of that song.

djrossstar Posted May 7, 2009 Posted May 7, 2009 They will never ever play Android live. They didn't even do it in 1992 when the record came out.I think they will still do Knowledge, and still take 15 minutes to run through it.ten new songs ... we can only dream.even the american idiot tour featured only 7 new songs.the fox theater show was special, and there will be future shows where they play the whole record and more.i am not trying to be negative! i just wish they would change their setlist this time around. play as many new songs as possible, but also play 'worry rock' and 'in the end' and other lost gems.DJ Rossstar
Ila Reto Posted May 7, 2009 Posted May 7, 2009 All I know is that if on August 3rd I don't hear East Jesus Nowhere live then I'm going to permanently hate Green Day forever.ah-HA! so you're going! did you get tickets yet? i dont think im going, so you dont have to hide from me when you go hmm, setlist. as long as it has 3 songs that werent made into singles per album (including stuff from shenanigans) i'll be good. (THEY SHOULD PLAY ALL THEIR SONGS! DO IT DO IT! 6-HOUR SHOW FTW!)My Prediction:21st century breakdownKnow your enemyviva la gloriabefore the lobotomyeast jesus nowhere21 gunsamerican idiotjesus of suburbiaholidaylongviewknowledgebasket casehitchin' a ridebraid stew/jadedking for a day/shoutminorityencore:Welcome to ParadiseBoulevard of Broken DreamsWake me up when september endstime of your lifeYea, unfortunately that sounds pretty accurate
gdpunk2 Posted May 7, 2009 Posted May 7, 2009 So long as Basket Case, and Minority. Would like to see some songs from American Idiot too though, being such a huge album, assumably they will play something from that, right? If that is true it would be amazing! That will be awesome, I dont think he would lie to the fans though, they probably do intedn on playing shows that long. I mean, Billie Joe said in the IGN interview that they dont have a set set list, they mainly take requests, but would they do that in such huge arena shows? I dont know. Anyway they have loads of albums of music so I think that at some point they will have too...Well not so much have to, but make their shows a bit longer, to satisfy old and new fans.My Prediction:21st century breakdownKnow your enemyviva la gloriabefore the lobotomyeast jesus nowhere21 gunsamerican idiotjesus of suburbiaholidaylongviewknowledgebasket casehitchin' a ridebraid stew/jadedking for a day/shoutminorityencore:Welcome to ParadiseBoulevard of Broken DreamsWake me up when september endstime of your lifeohhh I love it!
W Axl Rose Posted May 7, 2009 Posted May 7, 2009 For the arena tour they will go back to the predictable 100 minute or so set list. Most likely the same as the AI tour, just swapping out some AI songs for 21CB. I would love to be wrong but history shows GD has been extremely lazy with their set lists over the last ten years (not counting club shows)
MusicalDeviant Posted May 7, 2009 Posted May 7, 2009 the fox theater show was special, and there will be future shows where they play the whole record and more.i am not trying to be negative! i just wish they would change their setlist this time around. play as many new songs as possible, but also play 'worry rock' and 'in the end' and other lost gems.DJ RossstarI think In the End would be unlikely. I hope they doing "Going to Pasalaqcua" like they did at the Fox. I forgot home much I love that song. That and "409 in your Coffeemaker." But if they just did Panic Song, then I could care less about those other two requests. Panic Song live would complete my life. I know its a near-impossible song to play live, but I'd hope with all of the skills they gain(ed) for 21CB would allow for it to be played. No more "King for a Day/Shout." We're done. And NO HOMECOMING. And no more Jesus of Suburbia. We're tired of that.
djrossstar Posted May 7, 2009 Posted May 7, 2009 Jesus will be in their setlist for ever ... no matter what.
deadair Posted May 7, 2009 Posted May 7, 2009 Are poster boards allowed into concerts tjhese days. The Chicago show will only be my 2nd concert (first begin Zappa Plays Zappa) so I don't know too much about that stuff. I'm asking because I want to but in big letters on the poster board "Have Tre sing All By Myself and Dominated Love Slave!"
W Axl Rose Posted May 7, 2009 Posted May 7, 2009 Jesus will be in their setlist for ever ... no matter what.Umm,I don't know about that. Basket Case, yes. JOS, who knows. Anyway, they need to re learn some old songs. Any random three board members could bust out some Kerplunk,1,039 smooth songs. It isn't like they are hard to play. It comes down to laziness on their part.
deadair Posted May 7, 2009 Posted May 7, 2009 No more "King for a Day/Shout." We're done.I want King For A Day!
MusicalDeviant Posted May 7, 2009 Posted May 7, 2009 Jesus will be in their setlist for ever ... no matter what. That's disappointing. Its a great song, but it takes up so much time that could be donated to playing more of their older material. I'd kill to hear She's a Rebel live. That would be fun.
