I like it this way, otherwise you have to jump between different forums every time, and GD related and non-GD related topics aren't straight (non-) related anyway. Not split is just way more useful.

Actually, it doesn't really matter to me because I just click on 'view new posts' whenever I log on. But whatever works!

I think that's a great idea. I'm pretty sick of coming here for some Green Day chat and seeing 10 Happy Birthday topics.

Split them please! It's getting kinda hard to follow topics, and theres hardly any "General Chat" going on these days anyway, its all Green Day stuff. Don't get me wrong, the amount of Green Day news coming through at the moment is great, but its burying some decent posts.

I think even if the first option wins GD and General will be merged when things cool down anyway. But that's not soon hopefully

Ok, I have to admit, this comparison sucks, because that is actually as it is now.

I just think there'd be no diversity and no banter , just like all the rubbish Green Day forums out there. The mixture of people makes us better than the rest!

But do you think, that splitting up would be really such a huge barrier for people? Green Day people, who are already logged in, could after visiting the GD threads just jump into General Chat and have a look at the political and other news. And those people who are mostly interested in the General Chat won't post in the GD threads that often anyway. Unless the older members and I guess, they would still visit the GD threads once in a while.

But it is hard for me to tell, because I enjoy both subjects, the GD ones and the politcal threads and such equally and would continue visiting them both.

^If everyone did that then it'd work fine, but I just think a lot of people will end up ignoring one or the other. I can't see myself going in general much when I'm so distracted by all the Green Day goodies , whereas at the moment I'll still take a second to look in general threads if I spot an interesting one. I'd hate for either section to end up like, say, other band chat, where things move too slowly for much discussion to develop.

I suppose if it fails it can always be changed back though so I'll stop going on now.

Yes, because some stuff is getting mixed together. I think you should just have a Green Day section for news,interviews,etc and drop the General Section. I don't think you need it anyway, since there is already a General Section.

yep, will make things easier to find. Not a big fan of the Green Day topics filter we have now because when you switch that off again it's still a mess of threads.
