Split Green Day / General

I say no.

I literally would not look in the non-Green Day section at all if it's done now, because I'll be too engrossed in the Green Day section. Whereas now I can still spare a few seconds to click on a non-Green Day topic if I fancy it as I'm browsing the Green Day ones.

I've always liked the forum the way it is - like Hermione said, if it splits, I probably will never go into the non-Green Day section. At least this way, I click on a thread or two when I see something that interests me. It is a bit busy with all the GD stuff going on lately, but don't you have that thingy that filters out all the non-GD stuff???

The reason it's hard to keep up with the Green Day posts at the moment isn't because of the general threads - it's just becuase there's so many Green Day threads! The few general ones in between make no difference to that.

Plus there's already the Green Day Topics button to irradicate that problem completely.

there are more than a few general threads, i'd say at least half the threads are general.

it doesn't seem that way now with all the green day threads, which you're probably interested in most.

i'm only interested in the basic Green Day threads, but i do want to post in more general.

yeah, but it's kind of a bitch to keep up with everything and remember to mark a topic as Green Day. it's not hard, just easy to forget. And there isn't a way to do that the other way around. Some people don't wanna see all the Green day topics, and they can't sort them out like we can the other way through that link.

alright, the mods have been discussing this, and now we'd like your input. Do you guys think we should split Green Day / General. Things are getting a lot more busy, and most general type threads are being buried by the constant new Green Day things.

If you do think so, Green Day will stay at the top of the forum - but where should the "General" forum be moved to. Logically, it makes sense if we moved it down to the "Community" section of the site, with Off topic/Other Bands, etc.

If you think we should leave them, let us know why. We just wanna hear some solid opinions about this before we decide on doing it.

Yeah, there's a lot going on, and little things like that can get lost in the shuffle - I understand. I'll be happy either way - just will take some getting used to, like everything else. It makes sense, I guess - I just hate change!!! (well, unless it has to do with my hair color, lol)

They should definitely be split, it would make it so much easier instead of constantly having to weed through topics that aren't that important to me in order to get to all the Green Day info.

I strongly recommend we do split them. It's rather distracting to talk about Green Day one minute, and then a minute later there is a thread underneath it debating abortion. I think people of this community are smart enough to go down to another forum to talk about "general stuff".

Also, it really won't change the dynamics of the board that much - if at all. It will just clean the Green Day section up, and make things more tidier and easier to navigate.

I really hope people vote YES on this.

I thought of that earlier today. That's good for those interested in the Green Day topics, but what about those who don't care for them all that much, and are annoyed by the amount of Green Day threads when trying to look for something else to post in? I know this is a Green Day forum, but it's so big (and amazing ) that even if people stop liking them, they still want to keep coming back anyway. I say either split them, or make a "non-Green Day topics" button.
