November's Storms Posted February 10, 2010 Posted February 10, 2010 Whoever thought this up is a genius.I'd love to make something like this one day :]I'm trying to figure out what Tre's playing at the beginning but there's not enough of it for me to decipher ITS THE OPENING BEAT TO AMERICAN IDIOTI saw one at the beginning where all those stickers are on the wall. It took me a while to figure out just one due to not completely clear and non-fuzzy quality. The black sticker at the beginning says "trust" in red and then "dirty word" in blue. "Church on Sunday", anyone?I can't quite make out the other ones, though. Any other references not mentioned here? It's bugging me to death! One has cool three times, which I can only guess is referencing Tré Cool. One sticker says Fashion Victim, which is obvious. Another says ten percent more free, referencing Macy's Day Parade. Thats all I got!

November's Storms Posted February 10, 2010 Posted February 10, 2010 wow StevenofSuburbia that was fun to readdidnt catch some of thoseThanks! Also found two more, the ash tray on the desk at the beginning could be referencing the song Burnout. And in the same shot as the guy tuning Billie's Blue guitar, above him there is a person lifting a bass guitar. It's Mikes' Signature bass guitar.
Spider Tre Posted February 10, 2010 Posted February 10, 2010 how long did it take for you to find all of that? xD
Laura! Posted February 10, 2010 Posted February 10, 2010 I remember when this first came out and we spent so much time finding the different things in the commercial.Nice job finding all those Stephen!
Joy of suburbia. Posted February 10, 2010 Posted February 10, 2010 wow StephenofSuburbia...you were on it.awesome.
The Muffin Posted February 10, 2010 Posted February 10, 2010 36. In the beginning Tré is tapping his drumsticks to the rhythm of the intro to American Idiot, at 4 secs.isn't that Longview, not American Idiot? I haven't watched this video in a long time.good job finding all those references, I haven't found a few.
Rosie May Posted February 10, 2010 Posted February 10, 2010 Irish people are crazy. bwahaHaha, yeah were all mad as hatters I love this ad, I haven't seen it in ages. I'm fairly sure the poster, the "Homecoming" one has February 17th as the date? I have't seen it in ages though, I could be wrong.
The Disappearing Boy Posted February 11, 2010 Posted February 11, 2010 isn't the drum thing that tre does the intro to longview?
Ila Reto Posted February 11, 2010 Posted February 11, 2010 hah i havent seen it yet but i think i used to see it on TV all the time like around the time of when the album came out. [edit] i thought this was new, oops!!
The Muffin Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 isn't the drum thing that tre does the intro to longview?I thought so too
Isabel Posted February 26, 2010 Posted February 26, 2010 I thought the clock on the wall said 9.39. It would make more sense to say 10.39 but it didn't look like that to me
GoodRiddanceGE Posted February 26, 2010 Posted February 26, 2010 Seriously, the whole commercial is one single GD reference, it makes me sick trying to figure out every single one. I´ll just enjoy it as a whole!
