Velocity Posted May 7, 2009 Posted May 7, 2009 I just solved it. Guy with dunce cap in the tv is a reference to Reject, because its a Red/White/Blue dunce cap "reject all-american"I think it might actually be American Idiot. Since he is wearing a dunce cap and all.
Another Wise Ingrate Posted May 7, 2009 Posted May 7, 2009 I just caught this on TV and holy shit this commercial is awesome. I'm in love.
MusicalDeviant Posted May 7, 2009 Posted May 7, 2009 I think it might actually be American Idiot. Since he is wearing a dunce cap and all.Yeah, you're right.
mrwhirly2000 Posted May 7, 2009 Posted May 7, 2009 At the begining of the video, it looks like the hood ornament on the car in "Holiday/Boulevard of Broken Dreams" is in the pizza box
norcalgreendayfan Posted May 7, 2009 Posted May 7, 2009 It's at the top of the poster that says "Rodeo" and "Time of Your Life".ah the Rodeo poster I picked that up as being in Rodeo, California where Billie and Mike grew up
MusicalDeviant Posted May 7, 2009 Posted May 7, 2009 ah the Rodeo poster I picked that up as being in Rodeo, California where Billie and Mike grew upWe all picked up on that.
Laura! Posted May 7, 2009 Posted May 7, 2009 You know that guy holding the Pasalacqua or bust sign? He's a hitchhiker!Hitchin' A Ride!
MusicalDeviant Posted May 7, 2009 Posted May 7, 2009 oh oksorry. that came out way harsher than I wanted it to.You know that guy holding the Pasalacqua or bust sign? He's a hitchhiker!Hitchin' A Ride!Of course! How did we all miss that? Its so obvious!
Laura! Posted May 7, 2009 Posted May 7, 2009 And the letters 'AGFFE' Maybe its notes you play to create a melody of one of the songs.Wait, nevermind, forgot the I.
Anja Posted May 7, 2009 Posted May 7, 2009 Wow, that was epic!!! Back to the roots. Best commercial I´ve seen so far and yes, only Green Day fans get it Thanks for posting.
norcalgreendayfan Posted May 7, 2009 Posted May 7, 2009 sorry. that came out way harsher than I wanted it to.its ok i should have known that was probably picked up on pretty quickly but no worries and this commercial is one of the best
dallasthemenace Posted May 7, 2009 Posted May 7, 2009 witty. i almost think its better than the KYE video....
MusicalDeviant Posted May 7, 2009 Posted May 7, 2009 witty. i almost think its better than the KYE video....Personally, I think its better than that video, because it rewards those who have been fans for years and years with subtle references to Green Day of yore. The KYE video was just pure suck in comparison.
CarmenPunkGirl Posted May 7, 2009 Posted May 7, 2009 I love it. Anyone catch the many refrences to GD songs/albums? I found:- Kerplunk- 86- Nimrod- Going to Pasalacqua- One For The Razorbacks- TOYL (GR)- Basket Case- Warning- 80- East Jesus Nowhere (Possibly)- Paper LanternsIf anyone doesn't know what in the hell I'm talking about and wants screenshots, just ask.yeah, i've saw some of them. it's a good video
Guest Hayley Posted May 7, 2009 Posted May 7, 2009 I liked this commmercial, it's cool. And there are many references to previous albums and songs which I think that tries to attract old fans... It's nice.
