ComaWhite Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 yeah.fall out boy oder jimmy eat world would be ok...but franz ferdinand ... no thanks.....i saw them live once and never again!
Tiffx Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 Meh never liked them. I don't mind their new song though.
captain peroxide Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 I'm actually kind of unhappy about this. I'm not a huge fan of FF, the Kaiser Chiefs are slightly better. But I'm not all that excited about either one tbh :/
belinda jane Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 awh, wtf?!they better have better supporting acts when they come to australia.
novacaine_kid Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 This better not be the case in Europe (however, i do doubt that very much). Franz Ferdinand suck shit. Their music is like listening to a dog being tortured. What an unusual choice of support band.
dallasthemenace Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 i think a list is made of bands that green day could bury onstage like a turd in a cat box, then the names are put into a big fish bowl, and selected at random.
chewychorizo Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 Woot!I think i'm like the only person who's happy about this.
captain peroxide Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 Woot!I think i'm like the only person who's happy about this. It's entirely possible
deadair Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 Franz Ferdinand is a great band, but my biggest wish is that Jimmy Eat World would open for Green Day in the early-mid July part of the tour because that's when I'm going. But, I don't wanna get my hopes up.
Laura33 Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 http://www.postchronicle.com/news/original...212228792.shtml^ This makes me go want to throw up.Please, no. At least for the shows I go to - Please Green Day, have it in your hearts not to make me listen to them...PleaseFML, if that happens, I might just have to throw a bitch fit. I fucking HATE Fall Out Boy.But yay for the Brit band love. I love Franz Ferdinand. I saw them a few years ago - brilliant live band, so are KCI wonder who is gonna be supporting them in Europe (because I'm not even acknowledging the idea it could be FOB)
W Axl Rose Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 These openers are horrible. I would take Sugarcult from 2004 over them.
Bexie. Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 thank fuck i dont have to listen to that FF shite... i really hope we dont get some crappy support act for the UK... but im sure it will be.
valeria carci Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 Woot!I think i'm like the only person who's happy about this.no, I'm happy too
Green Jay Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 From www.greenday.com"05-06 - SECOND SUPPORTING ACT CONFIRMED Green Day are proud to announce their second supporting act on their upcoming US tour will be FRANZ FERDINAND. Franz Ferdinand will hit the road with Green Day from August 8th - August 26th."I think this is a much better supporting act than Keiser Cheifs. Franz Ferdinand are the band that got me into any sort of rock music, and I've never seen them live and would love to see them supporting Green Day! If I'm lucky they may support them for the UK dates too... but that's unlikely. Fingers crossed though!Edit: Someone posted the same topic mine was a minute earlier, but the other one has responses, so feel free to close this Holy shit I wish to see all of them in the UK lol
littlelune2003 Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 I think both of these bands will at least get the crowd going. Both have 'crowd pleasing' songs even to those who might not be massive fans. I think ok choice on both. (not that my opinion is worth much).
Bexie. Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 http://www.postchronicle.com/news/original...212228792.shtml^ This makes me go want to throw up.Please, no. At least for the shows I go to - Please Green Day, have it in your hearts not to make me listen to them...Pleasethats worse than FF and KC put together...

Pinhead-Stew!!! Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 Thats so cool! Franz Ferdinand and Green Day in one night! I wonder who will be supporting Green Day on the UK tour. However, Kaiser Chiefs are now shite. 1st album good, 2nd album average, 3rd a waste of time and money.
Chad is Rad Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 It's a good thing they're not the supporting act for the July 13th show. I hate Franz Ferdinand, with a passion. They better pick a good band for Chicago...or I'll be pretty upset.
Bryn Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 I was pretty excited to see this I love them! This summer is going to be incredible.
stxrlesseyes Posted May 9, 2009 Posted May 9, 2009 I won't have to sit through the Kaiser Chiefs anymore!
MusicalDeviant Posted May 9, 2009 Posted May 9, 2009 Its curious that franz ferdinand is the supporting act for Green Day from August 8th-26th, when the list of US tour dates stops at the 25th, in LA. So what show is on the 26th? Something tells me that Green Day is playing two shows in LA. And they aren't telling us yet.
Sharmellow Posted May 9, 2009 Posted May 9, 2009 Wonder if the tour in Canada will have a supporting act.
