farley drexel hatcher Posted May 6, 2009 Posted May 6, 2009 I think Tre has been around Billie too much, the 'y'know's are catching, it seems. Cool interview though
themole Posted May 6, 2009 Posted May 6, 2009 I love the look Tre gives the camera 6:11 in when the guy mentions the Dookie demos...
Doug Posted May 6, 2009 Posted May 6, 2009 billie sure has been sounding dumb in these interviews. He doesn't have any idea what he wants to say. They act like they didn't even write the album. I mean tre forgot the name of the first act.I also loved how billie was like "that became gloria" and mike was just like "...I know." Mike was being a damn secret keeper.

You know what's amazing, though? (But not really surprising...) For the 'you know' count, I came up with:34 - BJ3 - Tre'4 - MikeThat probably isn't right (I probably missed some for BJ) but it's still funny.

If you had to answer the same question again and again (probably numerous times throughout one day) you'd get a bit complacent too
gdpunk2 Posted May 6, 2009 Posted May 6, 2009 HAHA I love how they came out with 'We tried to play 86, and it was just horrible'
Rezurgam Posted May 6, 2009 Posted May 6, 2009 I posted this very same Video yesterday. Even had IGN.com in the title, but someone told me it was another company that did it - so a Mod changed the title of the thread. Here is the link:http://www.greendaycommunity.org/Forum/ind...t=0&start=0Lol my bad. XD I figured out why it looked so familiar. It's because Billie looked the same as in a short MTV video posted a while ago.

If I was interviewing him, I'd want to say "NO, I DON'T KNOW. THAT'S WHY I'M ASKING"
Ingrid Posted May 6, 2009 Posted May 6, 2009 ^ Yeah. I used to think it was cute, but with all the recent interviews I find myself starting to get annoyed with it. I feel sorry for them though, having to answer the exact same questions over and over again. I don't think I can bare listening to Billie Joe explain the Christian/Gloria thing one more time... They must get fed up with it too.

I mean tre forgot the name of the first act.I disagree. I think he's always come across as unsure when talking about his music in interviews, really. Something like that is so personal to him it must be hard to explain it on the spot to some random interviewer. When he's saying 'you know' multiple times I think it's because he takes time to choose his words carefully when he speaks instead of blurting out the first thing that pops into his head. He's already chosen the right words and said what he wants to say in his songs, so why not let them speak for themselves instead of trying to explain in detail?

I'll post it again. IGN.com Interview, 4th May 2009

I'll post it again. IGN.com Interview, 4th May 2009 It's no big deal. Was a simple mistake - either way, majority of people on here got to see the video. That's all that matters. Oh and thanks!

.:Whatsername:. Posted May 7, 2009 Posted May 7, 2009 I liked this interview, and the interviewer. They had some good questions and I liked how he actually asked Mike and Tre if they agreed with Billie. Aha, I loved "It became Gloria." "... I know, I wasn't sure if you wanted the cat out of the bag." We got more Mike and especially Tre talking too.
Anja Posted May 7, 2009 Posted May 7, 2009 Old news I´ve watched it for like 300 times Great questions, great answers (most of the time). But nothing can top the "Kerplunk Steak" question from the 1Live Interview
Guest Hayley Posted May 7, 2009 Posted May 7, 2009 Great interview, well, Billie uses "you know" way too much. I really like it though.

My friend always talks like this. He says y'know and like for every other word. And he isn't an idiot. Well.. haha. But I think Billie Joe just always talks like this, so, yeah
IscoredWaddlesgoals Posted May 7, 2009 Posted May 7, 2009 They must get so bored at having to answer the same questions over and over again. Can someone not ask them something original and more interesting ?
.Holly Posted May 7, 2009 Posted May 7, 2009 aww Billie just made my day When he said about fans that were 14 when American Idiot came out and are now 18/19, and he's watched them grow up and start voting and become alcoholics (lol). I felt like he was speaking directly to me

People forget shit, even stuff like that. And who cares what Billie sounds like, maybe he doesn't know what he wants to say, it's not like it's fucking scripted and says exactly what he's supposed to say and is suppose to memorize it. As for Mike, he never says much in interviews anyway because Billie usually either interrupts him or keeps talking or most likely brings up what he was gonna say as it was and he explains anyway why he didn't answer it. Loosen up and relax.
