Juan Posted May 6, 2009 Posted May 6, 2009 i don't know how anyone could choose the demo version when it sounded so obviously unmixed... it was good but the album version is just so perfect and beautifully produced. The one part that i really liked better about the demo is the "last one born and the first one to die" line.. i really wonder what this album would sound like if butch hadn't produced it.ahem...the album is just a "tad" compressed. And By a tad I mean,a fuck lot, hitting red on the waveform.
Eldoon Posted May 6, 2009 Posted May 6, 2009 Album version, hands down. It's got beefier production, more guitars, background vocals, and it's not too much of a departure from the already fantastic demo. However, the capper for me are Billie's "HEY"s. It's exactly what Billie would have done live anyway when playing that song, except it's on record now. Fantastic.
Fulano Posted May 6, 2009 Posted May 6, 2009 So far i loved the final version.I don't know why the demo version never sounded like Green Day,Was the demo version that got me being pessimist about the album. The final version changed my opinion
LAIDinUSA Posted May 6, 2009 Posted May 6, 2009 never heard the leaked demo. where can i listen to it? i usually like demos better
deathtofalsesushi Posted May 6, 2009 Posted May 6, 2009 They sound bored on the demo and energized on the album version. So yeah, album it is.
Jack96 Posted May 6, 2009 Posted May 6, 2009 i like the lyrics of the demo better but the album one wins!
music_that_is Posted May 6, 2009 Posted May 6, 2009 I like the demo version a little more. I'm so used to singing From Mexico to Berlin wall
Haz Posted May 6, 2009 Posted May 6, 2009 I like the demo one more, the album version has too many snazzy effects on it and they kind of take away from the song
themole Posted May 6, 2009 Posted May 6, 2009 Hands down album. Polished, professional, and sounds like what they wanted the demo to be. I thing "video games to the tower's fall" makes more sense than "mexico to the berlin wall" as video games and 9/11 seem to be more current America based than those other lines.
DistilledxSpirits Posted May 6, 2009 Posted May 6, 2009 I liked the lyrics to the Demo better. But everything else was better on the album version.
Alan86 Posted May 6, 2009 Posted May 6, 2009 I think i like the lyrics on the irish jig part from the demo version more. as a complete song though i like the album version more. Both are great though.
bjrules Posted May 6, 2009 Posted May 6, 2009 I liked the demo better but the album one is good too. I like the lyrics on the demo better.
Hellcat Posted May 6, 2009 Posted May 6, 2009 am so excited to hear the new version.will be like magic.
The Punk Posted May 6, 2009 Posted May 6, 2009 ahem...the album is just a "tad" compressed. And By a tad I mean,a fuck lot, hitting red on the waveform. They haven't learned the lessonfrom metallica in that part...But still, the album version sounds way better
Ally Posted May 6, 2009 Posted May 6, 2009 at the moment i stil prefer the demo, but no doubt the album version will grow on me the more i hear it
clusterbomb Posted May 6, 2009 Posted May 6, 2009 the album version has a lot more energy, the drums are better, you can hear the bass better and the guitar tone is beyond immensethereforthe album version by far!
